Well second time my appointment with consultant been cancelled.. this time he is on sick leave and then he's on annual leave next week! What a bloody joke. How am I supposed to stay positive when it's all negative. Feel so ill at the moment.
Rant over.
Currently trying to get ammonia test done through GP.. question is can my gp prescribe rifaxamin, anyone had their gp do that for them? Seems I wont see my consultant until January now.

My sympathies, just what you need in the run up to Xmas. Have you tried 111 to explore options? Try and get an emergency appointment with your GP, tell the receptionist that you are immune compromised and have what looks like an infection.
Thanks for reply, spoke them about ammonia test they had no idea what that was ! On a brighter note the gp receptionist told me that my referral to QE hospital had been put through by my gp.. no idea how long it will be before I hear from them though.
It could take a while, so good luck. My dealings with 111 have been mixed, the worst was a police matter and the person who took the call was dismissed but let’s leave it there.
My GP would sign off the repeats but the original prescription came from the consultant. Maybe get a emergency appointment and explain the mental confusion. Does your urine have a whiff of ammonia?
