Hubby had:- PJ's, wash kit, notebook and pen, ear plugs, reading specs, slippers, dressing gown, book, sweeties/flap jack, socks & undies, a couple of days supply of his own meds (in case we got all way to Edinburgh and found out it wasn't happening) & a laminated photo of yours truly and our little cat. I unpacked it all the other day, it's been sitting under his bed untouched since he was delisted.
PJ's no longer fit him, they were a size small and now due to all this 'beef' he's put on he's in large size PJ's.
We'll wait and see if the case ever gets repacked again. He had a cuddly monkey in the HDU when he was first admitted to hospital in 2012.
Hope you don't have too long to wait ............. that poor little bear won't want to stay cooped up in a back pack for too long. x
the t. coordinator told me take as little as possible as it just gets looked away while you are in i. t. c.
so im taking dressing gown slippersshe said nice shower gel and something to do while waiting. slso meds in case of a false alarm. xxcazer. will do photo of when its packed... agh. best wishes cazer. x
Urgh that's just reminded me during my assessment I got told that because I've got PSC I'll be fed through a straw up my nose for five days rather than the usual one. I'm gonna need a Haribo drop put in. Lol
if she goes to A&E we have two bags the first to go with her to the hospital with minimum stuff in. pills in their own pill boxes especially one that are hard to get like the rifaximin.
i have found that they like to see her last hospital notes to and of course a repeat prescription. a brief history and a good book for me.
stuff like basic toiletries slippers mags and sweeties I would bring in the next day as she will be mostly sleeping for a few days and not where i left her
We had it all packed that way as you can be in hospital 12+ hours and then find out the op isn't going ahead so we prepared for overnight stay etc. Hence the sweeties & nibbles too, be ready for something if they say it isn't happening.
Book and my own mug and mint tea bags, the white company linen spray to put on pillow at night and an really lovely smelling body lotion and the usual essential stuff.
Hi Catrina- I'm loving the White Linen spray for pillows!! I've topped up on lovely lip balm and hand lotion!! Having lovely things around me will keep me smiling through xx
Cause I was in for 3 months before transplant I had 2 bloody suitcases and most of it was useless after I had transplant lol I stayed in gowns provided due to them being baggy and believe me you don't want anything catching on the 50 plus staples you will be full of. Washing products were useless as can't get wound wet for about 4-5 days they use sterile water to wash it. Books were no good for days either as I was asleep or that off my head on morphine or I was telling my visitors to piss off and leave me alone as within 24 hours it's constant mithering off doctors, nurses , transplant co-ordinator, physio, dietician so when you do get quiet time it's all you want lol everything goes to plan you will be home in 7-14 days so you don't need as much as you would think
no thats sort of ehat t coordinator told me but some of it with parners for later in week. xxcazer. and they have to store away! in a not very big locker!!!!
