Just thought I would share this report. Attempted transplant November 16, prognosis 12-24 hours. 18 months later here’s where I am. No alcohol since October 2002. Weight was 155kgs, now 100kgs. Look and feel better than I ever have, fatigue apart. I am no saint, but boy am I glad to be here. This place has allowed me to concentrate on encouraging others, either with their alcohol problems or their fears upon initial diagnosis. A positive mind is essential in my opinion, some call it stubborn, I just call it my inner strength. People who came to see me whilst I was in a coma for 12 days, use words Like, miracle, fairy story etc. I know I’m not cured but from where I was I will take “remarkable recovery” every day.

Seems to have settled down, thank you.

I ended up at out of hours Dr on Tuesday night. I'd had a pre op Tues morning for a dilatation of urethra next Tuesday. Everything was fine.

Anyway, I've been getting lower right quadrant pain for a few days which was getting worse by the day. Tuesday night I was in agony. Phoned 111 who out me in touch with Dr who phoned me, had to go and see him. Examined me. Said u needed to go to a and e cos I was in so much pain and was already on a vast amount of pain killers. They were very thorough. Ended up I was very backed up with faeces. I said how can I be I've had the runs on and off for the last month!! He said it seeps around the hard stool. Has given me medication, if not right in 3 days to go back there or to my own GP as it can be very dangerous and I could end up needing surgery!!!!, Sorry to rabbit on

Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Well done, that’s a great medical letter. It just shows that slowly but surely even damaged livers can go on and even recover given enough time and no booze. You are brill and right to be proud. I’m sure your family are thankful daily.

Take care

Isabelle
