Went for 6 monthly US today and they also fitted me in for a fibroscan. Well...the US showed a regular shaped, smooth liver with no nodules and only mild fatty liver. Fibroscan was still high at 40, but much better than 10 months ago when it was 74. My liver is recovering from the years of alcohol I have fed it. I asked if my diagnosis was, indeed, cirrhosis, seeing as there was signs of big improvement. Was told "still not sure", but everything is heading in the right direction and to just carry on doing what I've been doing, because it's working. They are still going to treat me as if I have cirrhosis, but things are looking a lot better for me going forward than they were 10 months ago. There is hope for me yet. This has been a very good day for me and my family. Best wishes to you all. X

That is great news.
Brilliant news, onwards and upwards x
Congratulations. All your hard work had paid off. Xxx
Excellent news - keep up the good work and look forward to a well deserved future.
Amazing and well done you, it seems you have a similar story to mine. I keep asking if I have cirrhosis or not and no-one wants to say yes or no and that it is about going off what my scans, bloods, LFTs say which suggest moderate fibrosis at the moment. And while it’s frustrating, it’s actually also amazing that I’m now in full charge of my health and how this goes is up to me. If I remain sober, continue to eat healthy and get regular daily exercise my liver should remain in its current well compensated, functioning state for many years to come and I’ll take that and any other small wins along the way from where I was March 2023, looking like the corpse of Homer Simpson all yellow and bloated (I was killing myself) through alcoholism. Learning about others’ experiences like your own and the improvements you and others have made to get healthier, fitter and stronger keeps inspiring me so long may your health and liver continue healing, getting better and staying that way. Good luck and take care and keep doing what you’re doing 👍
Thank you and your wishes are very much reciprocated. Onwards and upwards, huh?!
Yep, it’s the only way!
Brilliant, be proud of yourself, you've clearly worked very hard on your recovery.
Excellent news and really encouraging when you see the improvements 👍
