Just been told my liver function tests show nearly normal on one and normal on another. I have has Chirrhosis for two years endoscopes the lot. Platelets low due to speen which hasn't improved. However from being told 2 year's ago the Chirrhosis could kill me to this is amazing. Not a drop of the poison that is alcohol has passed my lips since my diagnosis. I think that us why I have had this news today so chuffed. Not perfect but hey there is hope I love my liver, feel awful for what I have done to it but intend to look after it now.

Please stop drinking if you are still doing it and give your hard working liver a chance to heal itself I was told it wouldnt but here I am 2 years later. Over the moon. 😘 To all of you x

It is all there for you just grab it. Drink is not worth the pain it causes. Good luck!

Wonderful news. Thank you for posting as it gives hope and encouragement to others.

Really pleased for you. Please, please keep on doing what you are doing. Stay away from alcohol, look after your liver and go for regular blood tests. My husband died yesterday because he could not beat the demon that was alcohol. You have been given a second chance and I am glad to read that you are doing so well. Keep it up!

Congratulations !! So pleased to hear your news, my wife was diagnosed with decompensated Cirrhosis, Cat C Childe Pugh score in March 2020 and spent several spells in hospital having drains from ascites build up but after losing so much weight down to six stone at one point and looking awful she came home last September after both of us were told she would be lucky to make it to Christmas by one of the Doctors. She has not touched alcohol since March 2020, I am so proud of her, after coming home from hospital we have worked together to make sure she has good food with balanced diet and and gentle exercise she has gained weight back up to normal eight stone now and is doing more around the house and in the garden this summer etc where this time last year she showed no interest at all in these things, so fingers crossed we are one year on her tests are positive and she is heading back in the right direction with everything looking positive for the immediate future now all being well . Some issues she does have at present, are every now and then she has really bad cough and cramp in her legs and also severe back pain which comes and goes but all the x-rays have been clear ? I think the back pain is due to her doing too much sometimes? But on a positive note that is her old self and I am so pleased and relieved to have her back. This forum is such a support !! πŸ˜€πŸ™πŸ‘

Oh that's absolutely brilliant news Violet. I'm proud of you. I second your message about giving up drinking. It's not easy for some, I know, but everyone needs a healthy functioning liver. Treat it well and it will return the favour. Once again, congratulations and i'm made up for you. x
