HI all-hope you're doing as well as expected.
About 10 mins ago my GP phoned me (he's working late like me) to tell me the results of my blood tests taken about 8 days ago.
Liver panel normal except for GGT which is low 90s.
Frankly-I'm gobsmacked.....my GGT a year or so ago was in the low 400s plus ALT slightly elevated.
So what's changed? Well-after a somewhat stressful year last year (family bereavement) etc. I was feeling a bit jaded so decided to do a dry-ish January-followed by February and March. Have only lost a couple of kilos and after a couple of painful dental visits with excessive toxic doses of painkillers and antibiotics I was fearing the worst.
My liver still feels "inflamed" but not showing up in the tests-however-I'm mighty encouraged with the digestive system normalising. There's plenty of work to do on diet and cholesterol which is high at at 6.7 but BP normal and no diabetes.
Message is I guess-despite years of excessive wine consumption-you can still reverse things...I'm 62 now-when I first found this forum-5 years ago or so my GGT levels were double what they are now.
All the best
