So I think I know what your gonna say but because I feel pretty ‘normal’ most of the time I’m asking for your ‘what would you do in my situation’ answers. I am 16/17 months on the transplant list. I don’t feel well, burning sick feeling in my poor tummy. I am meant to be driving Portsmouth to Luton to deliver a 4 hour training course tomorrow and then driving back. What’s your thoughts? I don’t feel very well right now....what would you do?

After your Knowledge
Hi Chelle, like you say, you probably know the answer to this one. It's a no go for me. However, you still feel the need to ask, are you worried about what work will say? X
Thank you. I’m not worried about work. I’m just conscious. I try not to take time off (not actually taken anytime off and I’ve been with them almost 2 years) I just feel guilty for being poorly...x
No go Michelle you got to be in the best of health to have your transplant and you could aggravate whatever is going on by travelling. You should also see your gp x. Feel better soon
Hi chelle, sorry your not feeling too good hun. Well i think you know what i am going to say..think of no1.. not worth the risk chelle xx i am sure work will totally understand x
I would go to the hospital to check on the burning issue , but since you probably will not do that. Is it possible to do this training course via the internet live chat or anything like that ?
🤠
Hello Chelle, sorry to hear your feeling to poorly. Have you ever suffered with Hepatic Encephalopathy? It's just that I've found out that you shouldn't be driving: gov.uk/guidance/drug-or-alc...
As a matter of interest, may I ask what subject you are training on?
Regards
Richard
I don’t suffer with HE; thankfully. Just the odd forgetful Moment or putting the iron in the fridge and not the cleaning cupboard lol....I’m
On lactose 20ml 4 x daily.
I do 3 different types of training; DSE, fire marshal & manual handling.
Thank you for the research though. I have made a point of check it out and checking with my doctors x
That's so cool. Am right in assuming that you give this traning in care homes. I used to do some work in this sector some years back. I still know most of the care homes in South Wales.
No I deliver this training in offices. Offices attached to factories. I do enjoy it although it was never the way I intended my career to go.
You already know what I would say.
How is this testing ones knowledge?
It’s not it’s just asking for advice that’s all....
Just reading your message reveals the answer. You know yourself what to do. Stay safe. X
Give it a wide birth you never know how you’d feel ..x
I've just seen that you have cancelled. You needed to make the right decision yourself. Stay safe and take care of yourself. Xx
You deffo know what I would have said and for the record you’ve made the right decision, but your work ethic is brilliant and sometimes it’s needed to simply stay sane but on the days you feel proper poo give yourself a break.
Really hope that call comes for you soon
X
Stay home!
All my working life I would do anything not to go sick, I’d take annual leave move rest days whatever it took. All the time watching others “play the game” using sick for holidays etc.
I hated the thought of letting my employers down. I was paid to do a job and I was going to do it.
At the end of it all what did I gain? Nothing. I was taken advantage of. You don’t owe your employer anything. You can’t help being sick. It’s not your fault. Your employer has a system in place to accommodate sickness so use it.
You won’t get any thanks for working yourself into an early grave.
Look after number one.
Your a tough lady, however that long journey would be a bridge too far, hopefully get your transplant soon 👍
I'm glad you've emailed work and that you aren't going in. Make sure you rest up. Take it easy. Xxxx
