This has sadly been my experience of the nhs for the past 4 years , and hey the nhs has won. They don’t need to diagnose me anymore , no need to treat whatever it is, nothing, they have achieved their goal in my case.

Because I have given up on them , and what will be will be . Weeeeeeeee.

Anybody else feel the same way lol. Ile bet you do !!!!!

It’s funny! I spent over 20 years living in London and not once did I visit a hospital or my doctor.

Three months after arriving in Australia, bam! Hospital.

Public hospitals are great here.

I’ve heard that there are advocates in NHS hospitals that can help you with problems or poor service.

Cheers,

Brett

Brett.

Ha haha weee I’m sure you have lol we all have Brett, but it’s all a rather large lie I assure you my friend.

Brett. If I told my story regards my 4 year journey with the nhs and the various gp’s I’ve tried here , you really really would call me a lier , or a fantasist, or a lunatic.

And that’s how they get around it here just by simply applying one of the latter to ones file.

Honestly Brett. I have come to learn and believe, that the whole nhs platform, is the single biggest scandal in British history ever of all time ?

But honestly , no one cares and no one either will or can do anything about it , it’s government backed and it’s the largest institution and largest employer in the uk.

And the largest lier. And without doubt, the largest murderer.

And nothing anyone can do, that’s just the way it is.

By the way I’ve lost an iPhone 6 with sticky buttons that’s locked on caps, you’ve not seen it on your travels have you.

Hi

I'm so sorry you've had such bad treatment. You could go to pals, I know of many people who have been successful. Take care Lynne

Lynne.

Bless you.

It’s ok I’ve accepted it as it’s the way it is.

I’m happy for the people you know who have had success.

And it’s comforting to know their is justice for some then.

But not for me or in my case lynne.

For me they have all closed ranks and lied and lied and lied and as for pals

Well they have just enabled it also.

I am trying to take the nhs to court lynne. If I succeed to bring them to court or not is yet to be seen , but unlikely I’m sure lol.

To give you an example in brief lynne.

3 years of excruciating pain Atacks and the fear of not knowing what’s going on or if I will live or die etc done my mind no good at all.

Pushed from piler to post lied to and lied to and fobbd off again and again over and over it hilarious really lynne.

To then end up finally having hours to live from a gangrene gallbladder, to having no choice but to pay for a pvt surgeon in Harley street , to save my life .

To a go that even refused me a pvt referral for a pvt ct scan that I booked , haha you couldn’t make this up lynne.

To still 18 months after removal to still be pain not excruciating any more thank god.

To being diagnosed with nafld from day one to being told it’s gone to being told it’s back lol to having to thank god come on here to educated by these , frankly bloody wonderful people on here, and their really are. As if it wasn’t for them ide already be dead, be assured !

To having ongoing symptoms and pretty dramatic issues and begging doctors to send me to a liver specialist and still getting nowhere 4 plus years down the line lynne. It’s bloody hilarious you couldn’t make it up lol.

And that’s nothing of everything I’ve told you their lynne. Really it is.

All I can do is laugh at the N no

H hope

S. service

Their a joke , a scandal on another level !!

in reply toTheydontcare

Hi

That's appalling!! I've got Nash but we had a big battle to get there. One consultant said it was muscular!!, Please take care Lynne

Theydontcare profile image
Theydontcare in reply to

Lynne.

Bless you, and sorry you have Nash.

I do not know what I have unfortunately, I do know I had 2 large gallstones of 2.2 cm one in my gallbladder and the other in my cystic duct , stuck their for over 3 years, now I know what pain is lol.

I knew my gallbladder was infected as my white blood cell count was repeatedly elevated and I continued to point this out to various gp,s and consultants at hosts etc and quoted on many many occasions that nice guidelines for my condition were in hospital nil by mouth on intravenous antibiotics until infection was under control then proceed to surgery, however this continued to fall on deaf ears.

Up and to the point where I had to pay over 22k in an emergency situation at the princes grace hospital, in Nottingham place London, or ide be dead right now !!

And I cannot help wonder how many surly would have or even have passed in that very situation!!!

I ALSO KNOW I HAVE TWO PRETTY LARGE suspected liver hemangiomas but again these were found on numerous ultrasound scans again privately and nothing else has been done said monitored etc lol, I have extreme digestive issues of which I’ve repeatedly told various gp’s of and again requested over and over to be sent to a liver specialist to no avail. Honestly this is just the tip of the iceberg lynne. Of my journey with the nhs over the past 4 plus years , it’s a scandal that nhs as far as I am concerned.

Hence, why I say I gave up , because they beat me and gave up I did some 3 or 4 months ago.

Anyway , thanks for your reply , and I wish you well and good health.

in reply toTheydontcare

Thank you so much.

I had my gall bladder out in 1985!! The pain I get now is exactly the same. Take care Lynne

in reply toTheydontcare

Yes, I was 20 in the September as I had the op in October!! Take care Lynne

Theydontcare in reply toTheydontcare

Lynne. Would you mind telling me what your diet is like and has been over the 34 years, as ide like to adopt it.

Also tell me about the pain you talk of ever since gallbladder removed.

That’s interesting too.

I thought my pain was from the opp as it was their after and I thought it would go lol lol 😂

But 18 months post opp it’s still their 80 per cent of the time lol.

Many thanks in advance, if you wouldn’t mind sharing your diet with me only when you gave the time of course, ide really appreciate it.

Thanks again lynne.

We are sorry to read what a traumatic time you have gone through.

Here is the link to 'how to complain to the NHS' You may want to consider escalating your complaints up to either NHS England or your local CCG ( clinical commissioning group) dependent on if it is a primary or secondary care concern.

england.nhs.uk/contact-us/c...

Please do know that there are some excellent doctors, nurses and health managers out there in the NHS who do care. I know this has not been your experience, and we hope that you can seek out the care and help you need.

Warm wishes

Trust1

Theydontcare in reply to

Ah thank you kindly admin and god bless you too as we all will become dependent on the nhs at some point, but sadly will likely not receive the care we all thought we would as it does not exist any longer it would seem !

And as for complaining, my advice to all would be DONT bother, lol, because no ones listening, and THEY DONT CARE !

I’m fine , I have accepted things for the way they are , as theirs nothing else one can do lol.

Just do not be naive good people and be aware, ie prepare yourselves for no hope service from your nhs as it’s broken and does not work MUCH OF THE TIME !

Theydontcare profile image
Theydontcare in reply toTheydontcare

Admin.

You are funny 😁 lol 😂

I’m crying with laughter here can hardly contain myself.

You did make me laugh really you did and thank you for that as it’s more than I got from the nhs lol.

What’s so funny is the fact that that’s all we have a useless procedure of never ending complaints, lol, that’s it it’s true , that’s all you can do do the incompetence of the n h s

Is complain until you pass your last breath, because that’s how long you will be complaining for lol, and that made me laugh.

But complaining does not save lives unfortunately. ACTIONS DO.

And our so called n h s now renamed by me as the NO HOPE SERVICE lol

Only acts to often it would appear , when it’s to late , as from what I understand ?

It doesn’t cost much to get a hospital porter to slide a dead body into a body bag.

And that’s all of our destiny’s 😆

They saved my life.

in reply to

The NHS cured my mother of cancer at 50 years of age and gave her another 30 years of life.

They saved my Father's life by instantly implanting a pacemaker when he flaked out in a&e.

Treated him for over 5 years for leukaemia. Diagnosed lung and brain cancer and offered to treat him but at 89 my dear Dad decided to let nature take its course. On Jan 9th this year we lost him but will be eternally grateful to the passion, dignity and care all the nurses and doctors gave him to the very end.

I also cannot fault the care in every department of the Norfolk and Norwich hospital where my late husband was given the most incredible care from day 1 of his alcohol induced cirrhosis til he died 4 years later with round the clock care in ICU.

❤❤❤

Wow.

You have had a journey x bless you, nothing but love for you.

I think I am now planning to relocate to Norwich and no I am not joking.

Sorry to hear about your father and late husband.

Theydontcare in reply to

That’s fantastic and what I want to hear indeed it is snoutie.

But that was your experience, but it was not ,is not mine.

I do hope you think yourself extremely lucky.

And I wish I could be here saying the exact same thing as you but I cannot.

All I can say, is as far as I’m concerned, they tried to kill me ?

I think you have been extremely unlucky. I for 1 cannot fault any of the care my family has recieved over the years. The only cause for concern l have had recently is from gp appointment to referral, it's too long and we have had to pay privately which then gets us into the NHS system more quickly. But that's not staffing issues that's poor management of funds.

But , no thanks to the no hope service ?

in reply toTheydontcare

So can i ask who has been treating you?

Theydontcare profile image
Theydontcare in reply to

Laura.

No one Laura. I’ve tried and tried and tried. And they just keep on ignoring me it’s crazy. I’ve visited two gp practices over 4 years and 5 months . Get ready for this ?

183 times !!!!

As ashamed as I am to admit it , but this is true Laura .

I’ve cried I’ve begged, I’ve screamed and shouted, I’ve been the perfect gentleman, and I’ve got no help , grimly Heath service, Wrexham park hospital slough , grimly park hospital, uclh London. Chelsea and Westminster hospital sent me away.

Frimly hospital, watched me screaming around on the floor for 7 hours in agony , and said would I like some morphine ? No thanks .

Honestly, it’s been a joke. And obviously I’ve now had my beautiful gangrenous gallbladder removed, privately by an amazing surgeon, who saved my life for which I am of course ever grateful for.

Obviously my gp at my go surgery has a problem with me , and now all the gp’s in the practice REFUSE 😂 to see me ?

Because I am APPARENTLY CONFRONTATIONAL 😆 because after I had the operation when I was able to drag myself to the surgery, I went in to see the gp that I went into begging for that gp to sign my private ct scan referral that I had booked for the next day in Harley st . But that gp refused to sign it haha , crazy .

And told me the reason for not doing so was the practice did not want to be responsible for anything that may be found on the scan ? What the ?

So I went in to see that gp and said I feel like you tried to kill me , by refusing me the referral of which I offered to pay you to sign, now what gave you got to say for yourself dr ?

Now you , now know from the surgeons report , that I near died ?

Partly as a result of your incompetence and failure to sign the referral form, so what do you have to say for yourself?

I was told to leave the surgery and if I am not happy their to find another????

Haha 🤣 you couldn’t make it up.

When I was telling my now lawyer, he said he’s never heard anything so neglectful and was astounded.

CRAZY RIGHT ?

in reply toTheydontcare

Why did you refuse the morphine they offered you when you were in pain? If you refuse what they offer they won't be sympathetic to your needs, you need to work with them not against them and this may be the reason they feel you are confrontational. They have thousands of really sick people coming through the doors every day who will accept whatever is offered to them so they arent going to go out of their way to treat people who dont want to accept what they can offer.

Don't fight them, work with them.

Theydontcare in reply to

And it goes on and on and on and on honestly Laura. I find it all a big joke this whole nhs .

Here’s another for you,

My left knee stated giving me some trouble last summer so I went to another gp in the practice and asked if I could get a scan or something of my knee , which was visibly swollen and I could hardly walk on . No you just need to rest it was the answer ?

So went to a and e

At a and e the lovely doc I saw their an Indian gent asked me why I had come to a and e with a knee problem, I explain that I had just been to my gp and was told to rest it after asking for a scan , and that I was having probs with my gp anyway and had started legal proceedings against the surgery, he replied, well in light of what you have said , I will fast forward you to the knee clinic as you clearly have a real problem with this knee and visibly so, can you make it here tomorrow, yes I can, I go see knee specialist, she says problem here, sends for X-rays, shows nothing?

Says clearly something wrong here, orders ct scan for 4 weeks later, I go get scan, called back in next day, she tells me sorry bad news , you have grade 4 Ostio arthritis, ok this means ? You need a total knee replacement, oh ok can I try anything else first , well you can try Phisio but frank ya waste of time, ide like to try it please ok, I’m still waiting lol.

I go back to the gp at the surgery, I say go home and rest ? I have grade 4 bla bla bla and need a knee replacement. His reply ?

I’ve been an orthopaedic surgeon for many years, and I can tell you right now yr not a candidate for a knee replacement????

I said well hold on , you’ve not received the hospital report yet. Reply?

I don’t need to !!!!

I then ask about stem cell therapy, reply their is no stem cell therapy on the nhs and anyway it don’t work ?

Off I go . I do some research on the net , I find a stem cell project for Ostio of the knee at the royal orthopaedic hospital in Stanmore Middlesex, on the nhs.

I call up the professor, tell him my diagnosis, he says we would love to have you, take this page to your gp and ask him to refer.

I go back to that gp . Who now has the hospital report re knee, he says red faced, oh you do need a knee replacement, what the ?

I say but you said your an orthopaedic surgeon 😷 and I’m not a candidate for knee replacement, reply , well quite frankly I don’t understand how on earth you are even walking on that knee.

I replied well I’ve had to learn to deal with pain I guess.

Anyway , I also asked you about stem cell therapy, to which you replied. Their is none on the nhs.

But I have found a project at the said hosp.

And here is my iPad , I have spoken to the professor, he said he would love to have me , and to bring this referral page into you, so would you now please refer me.

Reply 😝

You cannot come in here threatening me and ordering what you want you know ?

What the ?

So I get cross now, and I say . Listen to me dr

I have not ever threatened a doctor, nor have I ordered anyone to do what I want, watch yr step here because you are again being incompetent, and by the way , your supposed to be my dr and have my best interests at heart here, why did it take me to find this stem cell project, and I had to bring it to you ? More incompetence again maybe ? Now look are you going to refer me or not , red faced 🥵 dr reply, I will do it reluctantly? What the ?

But I do not wish to see you as a patient again , see another ?

I waited months for my appointment at the royal orthopaedic hospital in Stanmore which is fine that’s fine ,and my appointment was last week, at 9 am ,

I have now moved to lewes in Sussex 3 weeks ago , basically due to my gp surgery and the hope of better health care here, not registered yet .

And my gp does not know I have moved yet.

I go to to my appointment with the professor at the royal orthopaedic hospital in Stanmore at 9am last week. I left at 6 am to drive down. I arrived in good time, only to be told my appointment had been cancelled ? 😂

Asked why , the professor came to meet me himself. And told me , I’m so sorry your gp should have sent you a letter informing you it was cancelled, as it was cancelled on the 4th of February, ok I asked if I may know why it was cancelled, he replied, ide love to have you on the project, but your referring gp has caused this as he has not sent your diagnosis notes with the referral so my staff had no choice but to cancel it. He told me , when you register with yr new gp please get your new gp to refer you again and we would love to help you !!!!

So you tell me Laura. ??????

I have honestly given up on the nhs and I am even paranoid about them now to be honest, I don’t trust them at all and do not want to go near them 😂 I wonder why.

Sorry it was an essay 😝

But I wanted to give you an in-depth Veiw. As I like you.

That’s me and the good old nhs .

I'm sorry to read that you are saying that your care and treatment on the NHS has been poor. As Laura has said you have been extremely unlucky. I am only here today because I received a liver transplant at the ripe old age of 68 for which I and my family will always be extremely grateful. I hope that things will improve for you in the future and that you get the treatment that you need. Regards Alf

Alfred.

That’s wonderful for you and your family, and again just what I want to hear.

However it perplexes me as to why ?

Why all these folk here, have been saved , etc but me, nothing ?

In fact, it’s making me extremely paranoid right now if I’m to be honest.

But thank god they saved your life.

I am very sorry to hear about your experiences with the NHS and you are quite right to feel the way you do, which sounds like you have gone past the point of anger and despair. Can you afford to go private every time ? If so then good luck. If not what happens next time your feeling really ill or you need emergency treatment. Is your GP NHS? I’m not saying this to have a go. Just making sure your fully understand the concept of what your saying. Just like any organisation there are people that are good at their jobs and people that make mistakes in the NHS. You’ve had a really rough deal and you should make complaint via the right channels because what if those people who made bad mistakes with you, continue to make the same mistakes with others after you. If nobody put in complaints then we can’t moan if things don’t change. This is peoples health and possibly lives we are talking about. As I said earlier though there are also people in the NHS that are very good at what they do, and they have saved my life 3 times so far and I will be forever grateful. Wish you all the best xx

No it wasn’t a joke it was a genuine reply out of concern. It’s up to how you want to take it

They do care, they do everything in their power to save lives. No its not as good as it could be there is always room for improvement, but we are now a hugely over populated country with too many people coming here thinking it is their right to be treated in the most part, by incredibly dedicated doctors, nurses, specialist and consultants working for our NHS
