The call: Hi everyone hope you all... - British Liver Trust
The call
Some people get the call almost immediately, one poster on here got the call as they were driving home after the first 'no go'. Fingers crossed a good and suitable liver comes around again soon. What blood type is hubby?

Sorry to hear liver wasn't suitable, hope your hubby gets call asap. Take care xxxx
I got 4 calls in 5 weeks so if his blood type is widely compatible, it should be soon. Fingers crossed for you š¤
Omg š® x
My second call was ten days after so hopefully won't be long and he will be on the other side š
Omg finding it really scary as know it could happen any day not . Think I got used to the call not coming and then it did . Puts everything back to been so real xxx
It certainly does but I was in hospital anyway so I was constantly distracted. If you can keep yourselves busy it's definitely the best way x
Exactly one week after the first no go call. Wonāt be long now. Wishing you both all the best.
Thank you for replying how are u keeping after op x
Am doing really well thanks. Scar has healed really well, such a neat job. Still a few aches and tenderness but itās early days still.
Before you know it youāll have your old hubby back and fighting fit.

Thank you xx
Hi Debski, got my first call which was a no go, and the the one I had been waiting for about 5 days later. āRay, if this liver is half as good as they are telling us, itās got your name written all over itā well if it has itās in somebody elseās bodyāas I haemmoraged almost immediately and they fought like crazy to keep me alive. The haemorrhage was caused by an original resection scar which they had to open to get to my liver. 15 months later I am still here to tell the tale with my old liver still doing itās thing. I write about the whole experience as part of my blog and the relevant one is called āThe transplant or notā 1liver1life.wordpress.com I now update it when something else happens and as I am going in for embolisation number 10 tomorrow an update will undoubtably follow. What happened to me is extremely rare and I am sure your husband will be fine. I hope it happens soon and you can go on and get back to some sort of normality.
Ray
Oh dear what a story canāt belive you on to number ten embolization. Does that mean u canāt have transplant then xx
No unfortunately not. But the experience of the whole journey has been incredible to this point. I obviously donāt want to die, and I am ever the optimist. I am off on a cruise from Singapore to Abu Dhabi in about 6 weeks and have done so much since things didnāt quite work out. I live every day to the maximum and just listen to my body, when I am tired I sleep. I truly hope things go well for you I think Iāve had the stress for everybody else. xxx
Bless ya yep live everyday as it comes enjoy ya cruise š¢ thatās gonna be fantastic xxx
Was so funny though as we put his bag in his car with everything in then drove to hospital in mine ??? Crazy brains š§ or what . The nurses did laugh xxx
My son had his first call on 4th Feb but they sent us home on the 5th as the liver wasnāt suitable. We then got another call on the 6th Feb and he was transplanted in the early hours of the 7th! It was a rollercoaster but he is now 22 days PT and is home and doing well.
Or bless him . Glad heās doing fine xxxx
