MRI Liver & Spleen: Hi everyone hope... - British Liver Trust
MRI Liver & Spleen
Hi,
I’ve had quite a few MRI of the liver and I’ve been in there around 30mins.there are lots of breathing excercices you need to do & towards the end of scan you have the contrast administered with a few more images & breathing exercise.i wouldn’t know the contrast is going in if they didn’t tell me.just try and relax and it will be over soon.
Best of luck with scan and results

Thanks for your reply Huw I know what to expect now. I've got laryngitis and a tickly cough at the minute hope it doesn't affect me doing the breathing exercises. My appointment was moved from the 25/10/17 to tomorrow and I had to come down with a virus 😩
All done it wasn't to bad and I managed to not cough once. Just have to wait for the results now thanks everyone for your replys. Hope you all have a good weekend 😊 Lin xx
When do you get the results?
I hope everything comes up good for you. Let us know how it goes
Trying to look after my liver I got some interesting readings on my last blood tests. Ones the kidneys won't like. Got to have another blood test next Monday. The good news is I have managed to lose a little more weight. Another few pounds and I will be at the top end of healthy.
Basically trying to ensure my 5 a day to 7 a day happened some of my reading went above the ranges they should be.
I'm just wondering what other scares I'm going to give my poor doctor. I wonder what he will look like with white hair. Unless I cause him to pull it out.

Thank you I hope your next blood tests are better and well done you for eating healthier. I really need to ask more about my results. I just got that my lfts are very abnormal twice and too much iron then a positive ANA. I'll have to wait and see what the MRI shows. You take care xx
Have you been tested for hemochromatosis? Sorry if I spelt it wrong. My sister has it. I didn't register those readings when they initially tested me but years ago I got worried about my iron levels and avoided things that would encourage too much. I had a high red blood count when I was pregnant with my second son. Lots of iron, and couldn't take supplements they made me really ill.
Recently trying to eat healthier and my levels have gone high on red blood count and a couple of other areas to do with red blood cells. Not sure if it was coincidence or not. Guess whose younger sister got Quite antsy. Wasn't too clever of me though because not having a healthy enough diet didn't help my liver.
It might be a good idea to ask for a print out in future I'm going to. Having done it this time gave me a better understanding of how easy it is until you find the right balance of messing things up.
