Just had a liver function test following digestive problems and some kind of intestinal infection. Have a colonoscopy scheduled. Ggt is 117 Dr suggested a retest in 4 weeks to rule out antibiotic effects and psin killer effects. What does a high ggt level indicate. I may have IBS or coeliac disease. .waiting for diagnosis.

Hi Layeney, members of the site are not medically qualified and so arn't able to give guidance on what particular raised enzymes levels might or might not suggest and this type of diagnosis is best left to your medical team.

Whilst GGT can be raised in liver disease it can also be an indicator of other issues. I've provided a link ( gpnotebook.co.uk/simplepage... ) which might tell you more but as I say interpretation of blood test results is best left to your medical team who have all your other records to hand.

Best wishes, Katie.
