Good morning,

Unfortunately we're not medically trained here so we're unable to advise you what the bilirubin levels mean for your son. The best thing to do would be to contact your GP / family doctor and speak to them about it

You say he is healthy, a good weight and he seems happy. Maybe you need support for yourself if you remain worried about a baby who, as you say in your post, appears to be well.

You should have a health visitor attached to your GP surgery. He or she would be the best person to advise and give you proper support.

Take care,

Jim

Whilst neonatal jaundice is fairly common the fact that it has gone on so long might be a cause for concern. This site is mainly aimed at adult patients and their conditions and you might be best running your concerns via the Children's Liver Disease Foundation childliverdisease.org/ the also have a Health Unlocked Forum just type in CHILDREN'S LIVER DISEASE FOUNDATION into the search Health Unlocked page at the top right of page. The one childhood disease which you haven't mentioned any tests being carried out for is Biliary Atresia - this is one which does affect infants and can lead to them requiring liver transplantation if not caught soon enough.

My thoughts are with you and your little one, hope doctors get you some answers very soon.

I would speak to your doctor about your concerns and ask them how worried you should be. It can be very difficult and can take time for an accurate diagnosis. My son was jaundice and he was 9 months before they were able to diagnose him He has a blood disorder which although presents through jaundice. It doesn't really affect his liver.He's 24 and still jaundice but healthy. Hope you find the answers your looking for. I know its difficult but hopefully it'll be something that's easily treatable. Try not to get too stressed.

best wishes

My son was jaundice for many months - tested loads, but no problems at all. I was told if babys are breast fed this can happen. Id suggest you speak to your GP.

Thanks how conditions now

Hi,

As some of the followers have already posted, no one is medically trained on this forum so they cannot advise you.

The British Liver Trust is for the care of adults with liver disease. We would recommend that you could contact The Childrens liver disease foundation who may be able to help; here is the link to their website;

childliverdisease.org/

However, it would be advisable to see your son's own GP and doctors for specific medical advice in the first instance, as they have access to his medical records and know him best.

Wishing you both well,

Rebecca
