Anyone have or know of anyone who was transplanted in spike of having mild heart issue? If so what were they?

I suffer with palpitations quite a lot I just informed Leeds of this when I was going through my assessment. All they done was double check everything with my heart and I had my transplant 3 months ago.
I too was treated in Leeds and as a result of pre-transplant studies, I was given an angiogram and told that in the event of their being any problems identified, they would deal with them during that procedure. I was told afterwards that while there was some narrowing, (normal for my age 63 at the time) they did not need to treat. I had the transplant 5 months later.

Hi, I have a problem with a valve in my heart but still had a transplant 3 years ago.
Liver disease can cause the right side of the heart to be bigger.
As you can see from the various replies a person is individually assessed at their transplant assessment to check their heart and see if they are medically fit enough to go through the rigours of a massive transplant operation and the post-operative recovery.
The tests normally include an ECG, a heart stress test (tread-mill or exercise bike whilst wired up to all sorts of monitoring equipment) and scanning of the liver - there are also extensive breathing and lung function tests & a multitude of blood chemistry tests.
The multi-disciplinary team can't/won't put someone through to transplant if there is a chance they won't survive the operation due to a pre-existing heart condition. If however it is considered fairly minor as the other respondents have said then it will be a consideration but not necessarily a contraindication to transplant.
All the best
