This sounds like me too. I was diagnosed by my GP in February this year after random LFTs came back raised. She told me to lose weight and I've had monthly blood tests ever since. I had an ultrasound after about 3 months. For the first time my last blood tests in October were all normal so now I am moving on to surveillance testing every 3 months. My GP only suggested a referral to a specialist if my LFTs hadn't fallen after 6 months which they did so she didn't.
I never drank much anyway but I've avoided alcohol totally and stopped taking Paracetamol (I was on a lot for osteoarthritis). I'm careful what I eat and never eat more than I use (I got a Fitbit to wear). It's been long and hard but I'm lighter than I was 30 years ago which is quite nice even though I wasn't overweight in the first place. The only other thing I would do if I could would be to take more exercise but my knees stop me.
It's all really what you put in I'm afraid. I was very frightened at the beginning and I worked all my life in medical research particularly gastro so that made it extra hard.
I hope everything goes well for you and I send you lots of best wishes

Hi. I had "suspected" NAFLD because of taking Biological Drugs which wrecked my LFT. This year I had = Fibroscan, Abdominal Ultrasound Scan, Liver MRI Scan with Contrast and then finally a Liver Biopsy. I got the results 3 weeks ago w h en I saw the Liver Specialist and was told that I have Fibrosis (scarring of the Liver) and NAFLD. Got to lose a stone (I am only 13 stone now) follow Low fat diet. And go back to see Liver Specialist in 4 months time, have my LFT done monthly, and every 6 months to have a Liver Scan. The scarring that is in my Liver is there to stay, it cannot be removed or reversed. I do not drink Alcohol or Smoke, always thought I lead a healthy life being a Type 2 Diabetic for 16 years = apparently NOT!!!
