Could it be unrelated or an allergy perhaps ?

Unless I am mistaken a rash would not be a symptom of anything liver related - itching to do with bilirubin build up isn't a rash.

It could very well be an allergy - did you have different clothes on? or used a different washing powder than normal?  Did you come into skin to skin contact with anyone after your boozy session? or eat something out of the ordinary?

You can even have an allergic reaction to the booze called alcohol flush reaction - on Wiki it says this "is a condition in which an individual develops flushes or blotches associated with erythema on the face, neck, shoulders, and in some cases, the entire body after consuming alcoholic beverages. The reaction is the result of an accumulation of acetaldehyde, a metabolic byproduct of the catabolic metabolism of alcohol, and is caused by an acetaldehyde dehydrogenase deficiency."

This might be something you should get checked out at your doctors when they re-open after the long weekend and in the interim stay off the booze again.

Thank you Katie , I didn't have much maybe 4 beers friday 4 Saturday and 3 Sunday , will get it checked when docs open , I feel a little better if its not liver related but I'm def giving the beer a rest for a while

Cheers

Keep reading Katie's reassuring advise to ease your mind. I have not experienced a rash like that without other symptoms either. Tomorrow will be here before you know it.

Take care.

yep unlikely to be a liver issue in my experience-could be a yeast based allergic reaction. stay off the beer for a few days. if it happens again when you drink alcoholic drinks then you may have developed an allergic reaction to it-its not common but can happen. Suspect it may be something completely unrelated.

Also when you did your blood tests in November was this just a routine checkup or a full liver panel? To put your mind at rest may be worth getting GGT levels checked if they weren't done last time.

Personally, I think its from drinking, you've put your live under stress with booze, its like putting petrol on a forest fire already burning. I think once the alcohol leaves your system, the rash will disappear. I would be drinking apple cider vinger plus rubbing it all over the rash. You could also start drinking lots of freshly squeezed lemons, the liver responds fast to their ability to clean up toxins, the booze. Why are you still drinking? No judgment here, I was an alcoholic but I gave it up in hopes of extending the life of my liver. Good luck to you.

Hi , I don't drink much at all really , couple of beers once or twice a week , sometimes more sometimes less , I used to go out partying all weekend but now have young family so stopped all that , I had a random blood test about 3 years ago which showed raised liver enzymes so reduced it again and next test was all good , still in my mind that's why I wrote on here

So you do not have liver disease?

It looks like petechiae

Also these dissapear when pressed

Then its not petechiae.  Must be some kind of irritation, either the alcohol or your laundry detergent or something.  It should go away in a few days, hopefully.  Keep us updated.  Hope you feel better soon!

Well a year on and I'm back to square one , been getting petechiae randomly which disappears in a week or so , not been heavy drinking and diet isn't bad , so I've been to the docs today and been sent for blood tests , I'm terrified I have something life threatening now , the doc wasn't too concerned but I have a feeling that it's liver damage , I can't think straight, can't talk to my kids or get on a work .. got an appointment in 3 weeks to go over blood results ...

any replies appreciated
