Why do I feel achy all over?

For a few weeks now I have had an achy feeling in all my joints, the type of feeling you get when you've done a lot of exercise. I also feel like I am seizing up when I sit down and get back up again.

Is this normal? I have cirrhosis and am on spiro and furosemede. Not got my regular docs appointment until next Friday.

Hello, have you had bone denstity tests? bone loss/muscle loss are a problem, when I had cirrhosis I lost height and a lot of muscle, the tests will show if you have this issue.

Let your co-ordinator or consultant know.

I hope for the best for you.

I haven't had bone density tests. I was only diagnosed in April and my first appointment with a consultant is in July. I will put it on my list to ask him about.

Thanks for replying.

I have atrophy, its the lose of muscle protein as the liver cant store correctly. Pain killers dont really touch it, had MRI last week to check. I been taking magnesium a vit e which seems to help, but weakness and pain still there and no muscle build. I am afraid its one of the symptoms. ?..

I thought so bigplanet. I will leave off starting any supplements until I have seen the consultant. Just want to stay on the furo and spiro for now. Pain isn't too bad but it is constant and making me feel down. Even my finger and toe joints hurt, and my shoulders. Well, pretty much all joints hurt actually lol.

The liver uses the bodies muscle when it can't process food vitamins properly, I had cirrhosis and have now just had a liver transplant and my knees and legs still ache even walking upstairs at home, I've been told to exercise properly like swimming, exercise bike etc to help build the muscles up I too was on furosemide and spiro for a long while.

Good luck
