Quick update
That's great news. I found that assessment week horrific as I was very ill, and my life depended on it. Being ill enough to get a transplant but not to ill is a tough call.
I found the consultants were keen to keep me under no illusion's about having to pass all the physical and mental assessments.
You must be so relieved.
Dear JoJokarak,
Wish you all the best for your week ahead... This is brilliant news...
Lots of love,
Pear

Congratulations!!!
I too am on the list for a transplant having been through the assment procedure twice. I live on one of the outer Shetland islands so me nearest transplant centre is Edinburgh only 400 miles and a ferry plus plane trip. I await the transplant with a degree of trepidation. I know that I will feel better after the transplant but I don't mind admitting that I an scared of the procedure. I also wonder how long I will have to wait as life is on hold right now and I am actually feeling quite well. Having been through acites, now managed with spiro, had varices branded 20 of the little blighters, and a nasty portal occlusion that nearly did for me. I also have concerns about how usefull a transplant will be. I still have hep c having failed to clear the virus both with peg interferon and the new drugs, harvoni and ribavin. The virus will obviously still be present in my system, and will infect the transplanted liver.
Any thoughts.
Best wishes to all
