Liver failure
You won't like my response, my Mum was the same for a long time. She was bedridden and really didn't want to be but we (her kids) didn't want her to starve to death so she had a naso/gastric tube. Trouble was she kept pulling it out.
It was only years later that I thought about it and remembered that she had said she didn't ever want to be like that. We should have been more sensitive and not so selfish. She would have been happier to have faded away from lack of nutrition instead of suffering all the bodily indignities that came with keeping her alive. She did suffer horribly I realise now, being incontinent and unable to do anything for herself.
It is a hard call to make, particularly if you have brothers and sisters with different ideas, but I suggest you think and talk about it.
My dad always says he rather fad away than be like that bur my mum and sis is the ones that wontlet that happen
