what are normal alt/sgpt levels ? mine are 101 is this normal please

My laboratory has 10 - 60 iu/L as the normal range for ALT, so 101 isn't normal for this range.
I'm afraid I don't know what sgpt stands for.
I think 'sgot' is an old name for AST. Maybe that's what you mean? You can get simple info on references levels by 'googling', and can get an imterpretation of what different levels of raised LFTs can mean. Though of course not necessarily a better idea than talking to a doctor who knows about you as an individual :-). Another point is that one lot of liver function tests in isolation means very little, esp if it's only one or two 'functions', so it probably is best to discuss with your GP, and see what they think and if they have a plan to redo. That way you get a truer picture over a period of time.
