With the foul winter weather behind us (hopefully), I'm determined to get back to running three times a week and building back to 10K. I had reached that goal last summer but a stress fracture in September kept me from progressing.

I'm working on the Runner's World 4-week training programme. Yesterday, I did the Week 1 Run 2 which was 2 miles easy/4 intervals of 1 min fast/2 min recovery/2 miles easy. I'm on holiday in Cornwall and the weather was not great - rain to varying degrees - but I did it and it felt pretty good.

I walked the recoveries and my last 2 miles were very easy, but I am very pleased with the 8 K...

Really good to hear you're recovering so well. Build up gently and there'll be no stopping you.Cornwall is so beautiful, with a view like yours who needs to go to further? 😁

Thanks! It seems like a nice programme with only three runs/week. I think its doable. My regular parkrun is my first run of the week and then rest days in between all runs.

And wouldn't you know it, today is absolutely beautiful. Ah well...running in the rain against the wind will build up fortitude...
