Morning all! I officially kicked off two challenges yesterday: the Great Run Solo and the Official 2024 Bridge to 10k Advent Challenge. It’s been busy and I’ve been itching to get running regularly again. Yesterday seemed like the perfect opportunity with a big gap in the afternoon. Then, things happened and time got away from me…there was such a small window that it hardly seemed worth it. Two facts made the decision for me. Firstly, remembering Oldfloss ’s post about short runs still being runs. Secondly, my hair really needed washing so I might as well get it really dirty!!! It’s amazing what pushes us out the door sometimes!
I didn’t have time to look for Christmassy run kit so I decided to see what I could spot to tick off an advent run. Five minutes to the gate. Start podcast which had ten minutes left. That would be my run time today. Start running along the lane with eyes peeled. I saw some small birds and got excited that they might be robins. No luck. A few houses on the way out of the village had Christmas trees so maybe I could do a selfie? Too much risk of looking like I was scoping out a place for a burglary. A little way further I noticed berries in the hedgerow. I’ve no idea what they are but they look Christmassy so I’m claiming a Berry Bimble!
This run was over almost as quickly as it started. Just over a mile run and it definitely shook out a few cobwebs. Cool down walk home and done. Hopefully I can manage a longer run tomorrow but that one hit the spot!
Happy running everyone!
