I'm trying to come back from injury. I started twice unsuccessfully (always two runs in a week and there was no time for the third). I'm now 6 weeks from the start and I start week 7 on Monday. I have some hope that it will work out.
However, my favorite route is closed due to a large presence of hornets. I resisted the temptation to ignore the cap for a while, but I'm glad I finally respected it. On the way back, which led past the closed area, I heard a strong and dark hum even through my headphones. I can't imagine what's going on there, but I hope it will end soon and the road will be clear again.
I am thankful for the last 6 weeks even though I feel like I am getting slower and slower. But anyway: Happy running!
PS: I recorded the last run badly, so I'm giving a picture from W6R2.

Glad to hear you are back and running. Do you have a 10K race set up in 6 weeks?
My first is three weeks away. I’ve managed 10K twice in my training but the last two weeks have thrown a lot of wrenches in the works of my planned runs.
Mine is going to be a slow 10K too. But if there’s anything I’ve learned here, it’s that slow and steady wins the day!!
I think Lusmo is talking about being 6 weeks from the start of their return from injury…there’s no mention of a race. Coming back from an injury like that is tough enough without the pressure of a race as well.
Nice to see you back! I think it’s pretty common to have a few false starts when coming back from injury…I certainl did! I know it’s not your preference but it sounds like maybe two runs a week is suiting your body in this comeback period? I can totally empathise with the feeling slow. It’s not a comfortable feeling but as you keep going (patiently-send some my way too!) and you’ll get to where you want to be. Just think how far you’ve already come from just after the injury happened. Maybe that’s the best comparison.
Hopefully your regular route will be open again soon.
