Pesky weather and germs not run for a week.

I absolutely was afraid to run last weekend/earlier this week due to snow and ice I was afeared of falling. Then got a stink of a cold so have just lurked at home and work then asleep and couldn’t have laced up my runners even if I was motivated 😔. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday will be back to it, I am redoing from week 4 the c25k as a start point to get back out there is my shambolic glory 😁

What a shame - you were going great guns as well. Welcome to the Comeback Club!! How long were you off running for? Hope you're feeling better.

It’s been 8 days since my last run but feels like forever. I never made it out today but that’s ok.

So you don't need to go back to c25k surely? I was off for 7 weeks and I started at week 5. Doing the 20 minute run at the end of that week was fine as well - surprisingly...

Oh, it’s great to hear you’re back! I haven’t had to redo C25k yet (knees are holding up) but I think if I did, I might choose not to do the NHS C25k, but the “Zombies, Run 5k Training”.

I’m having quite a lot of fun with Zombies, Run , so the companion C25k app might be just as good. Thought I’d mention it, in case it’s of interest.

Good luck with you return to running!

Ooooh absolutely. It will add into my zombie survival plan. 😁

Horrid being unwell and this winter weather makes it even harder, good luck when you get out there

I hope you’re feeling much better by Monday but if not don’t rush back. You could always walk rather than run until you get your stamina back. I’ve started again at week 4, I think it’s a good week to return to, I did it today and found it much better than my attempt on Thursday. Good luck 🤞

I don’t blame you for not wanting to run in snow and ice CaptFrey and then a cold on top of that, what a pain. But I’m glad you’re mojo is coming back - hope it all goes well for you!

Thank you . Did a long walk today to practice being a human. Should be ready to don my running cat mittens soon

I had the same problem but in the opposite order...virul for a few days then the snow and ice came. I had 8 days with no running though I did walk daily and must admit my 1st run back felt challenging, but I did my 2nd today and it was good. Take it easy and by a couple of runs in it'll be like you never stopped 😊👍

That’s reassuring. I shall go under cover of darkness to avoid the walkers.

Take enough time off to get well. Don’t worry, you won’t lose your fitness in a couple of weeks. I’ve been extremely lax for a year now, but am amazed at how much fitness I retain 😀 Hope you feel tip top again soon.
