On my way to this run. Fingers crossed that the you-know-what holds off. The weather that shall not be named.
I’m doing this as part of my 10K training. It’s been a week or so since my 9K run and thought this would be a good one in prep for my first 10K later this week!!
Slow and steady from the start…

Well done to you... that is a lovely bit of bling! Need to work on those racing starts... try running a load of hill intervals for a while 🤣🏃♂️
Seriously, some pace work and using your watch too, to practice timings, could be useful. Early days yet and you are doing well, making progress and more importantly, having fun!
Congratulations! Well done indeed! It is always very hard to start slow in a race. I tend to try and start off near the back, but once you get caught up in the herd....
Congratulations! Isn’t it only the second or third time you’ve run 8k? Just concentrate on enjoying covering the distance (however that happens!), building up both your experience and your bling collection! We all have runs that don’t go to plan and we learn loads more from them than the ones that do! Not getting pulled along by a crowd of other runners and running your own race is one of the hardest things to master in my experience…and I’m still not there yet!
Maybe it’s helpful to keep the goal in mind-you’ve done this run as part of your 10k training, not to run your fastest time or run your best race. You’ve absolutely hit that goal! Coach B usually wants long runs done at an easy pace and walk/run is totally in that spirit.
