I've been rather absent for a while - it's been a tough few months for various reasons I won't go into now. When I found out about the HU10 I definitely wanted to be part of it. I knew running a whole 10k wouldn't be an option as I'm not quite back up to 30 minutes after a knee injury but I figured it would be doable as run walk run.
My idea of running 1km, walking 500m, running 1km quickly morphed into running 500m, walking 500m and my legs were screaming at me by the end, but I did it!
It really wasn't pretty and it was uneven and slippery undefoot in places, but I did enjoy my winding route through the woods and across the fields.
I also enjoyed the rather eclectic Spotify playlist๐
This was my slowest 10k by a very clear margin, but it was never going to be a PB. And anyway its the taking part that counts.

Well done Diane, how lovely that you could do it! I did a little run this morning but it's tough going following being unwell. Good to see you back ๐
Brilliant work Birdlady64. Your 10k took a huge amount of effort and you should be really pleased with yourself! Everyoneโs experience was different; the main things were that we did it together and people enjoyed it. I hope that knee of yours is well on the mend and that this exercise helped it. ๐ฅ๐
Well massive congratulations for completing it and I agree it's the taking part that's special. I took loved the playlist.... Not songs I would add necessarily but they were just such a boost on my run and I loved each choice ๐๐
That sounded like a tough run Diane - and you modified your plan to suit what you could do on the day. Well done! I hope you donโt suffer any after effects from your knees.
Indeed it was the taking part that mattered! ๐๐๐๐๐โโ๏ธ
I really wanted to do this one @Jools2020. The timing wasn't ideal but we make the most of the opportunities we have, don't we?My (uninjured) knee is grumbling a but this morning but ๐คits nothing serious
Massive congratulations to you! Absolutely guts and determination to get that run done. Thatโs worth so much more than a PB any day. Super well done ๐ฅ๐๐โโ๏ธ
You're so right Birdlady64 you've completed it and you'll have this sort of run in your back pocket for another time if ever you need it. Congratulations on completing it and for all the time on feet. Hope you recover well and more comfortable runs are ahead ๐โญ
