Thanks everyone for the really supportive comments, they help me a great deal.
Building on getting back into regular running, I got out again yesterday and managed a slowish but fairly comfortable 22 minute run - I had intended doing 20 minutes but felt able to keep going, so I did!
Planning to do a park run with my older sister in a few weeks time, when we are in the north together, so that’s a good goal to work towards. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep running for somewhere between 25-28 mins by then, as I work my way towards my goal of completing a ‘fully run’ park run 😁

Hi Tasha99 ! Good to be in touch. I’ll be at the Albert Park run on 19th November as me and my sister (we’re from a large Middlesbrough family!) are visiting family for the weekend. Would love to meet up to say hi 😁
You might surprise yourself on park run day, as you get carried away with the atmosphere. Lots of people ‘Jeff it’ round park run. I’d just keep it slow from the beginning and chat away to your sister for a nice comfortable pace. Enjoy. 😊
I have only run at one Park Run (7 times) in Middlesbrough and that is at Albert Park. There is parking at the junction of Clairville Road and Park Vale Road. One of our local Ultra runners calls it the PB park because it is pretty flat. Just a gentle upslope on one side and a corresponding downslope on the other. It is two laps plus a bit at the start. Each of my runs there was quicker than the previous one, so it was effectively a PB every time!
There is another PR at Stewart Park which has a car park at its Ladgate Lane Entrance, but I have never tried it. I too am working my way back from a leg niggle which showed itself on the GSR two weeks ago. It is improving but I am not quite 5k ready yet. I am hoping to manage 4 to 5k up in the forest this morning. Hope that helps.
That is super helpful, thank you so much! It is the one in Albert Park so it sounds do-able to do that park run in two weeks time. I’ll run as much as I can, probably around 25 mins, then walk the last bit! It’s a work in progress for me!
I hope that your work back to full health continues to go well.
Thank you for your encouragement, it really helps! I did a further run yesterday - again keeping firmly in my mind all of the great posts I’ve been reading - and did 22 minutes running followed by fast walking to take it up to 30 minutes. More progress I feel 😄
