RED February completed 🥳🥳

Well, it definitely wasn’t what I’d planned, but I finished it. To be fair, it was more correctly WED February. Having been suffering with piriformis issues ever since last September and having had numerous physio appointments, exercises etc. I was feeling a bit better so signed up for RED Feb on 29 January with the aim of working back up to 10k over the month.

By the end of week 1, I was in pain and went back to the physio. She said I could carry on if I reduced the pace and distance, but even at 2k at 7.30 pace, I was having to lie on my stomach rather than sit down it was so painful. Thankfully the physio then told me I should avoid running, but that walking would be good (combined with stretching, strengthening and massage, laser, acupuncture from her). I made sure I was setting out each day specifically to do my RED separately from normal activities and aimed for 2 miles at 4mph, which is fast enough to increase heart rate and breathing. Anyway, 95.23k, which is not too bad, so I will get my medal and I earned 2 Garmin badges too 😃 Now I’m off skiing for a week and will try a little run again when I get back, in time for my 💯 parkrun on 16 March. Fingers crossed 🤞

Well done!!!! I just completed a red-circle February, not quite as walking intensive as yours! I clocked up half of your km running and walking (45km), but rowing I racked up a bit more!

Well done!

Well done! Rowing is far more of a full body workout, so I’m sure required much more effort!

Well done on completing your RED February despite everything you’ve faced Sandie, and that’s a good mileage achieved too.

Have a wonderful time skiing . ⛷️ ⛷️

I was pretty pleased with the distance when I totted it up. I’ve actually enjoyed my daily walks - met various doggy friends (and their owners) who I haven’t seen in a while, so had some good catch ups too 😁
