There are all sorts of things that keep us from running or achieving our running goals. Life intervenes in the strangest of ways

… we land up on the injury couch

… we just lose our mojo

… the weather & then we can’t be bothered

… mourning & grief in its many guises

… family & or work commitments

… travel, jet lag

… physical emotional or mental illness

… Been there done that & not sure if we want to continue

… something else

I wonder where you are at today! This seal pup sleeping in the sun gives us a clue. He’s resting his body & enjoying the sun before returning to the ocean to hunt.

What are your needs? Why are you not running & how can you get back into it again. How can we help you? Anyone with a story to share that may entice someone back?

NRC have some great runs to get you back on track ranging from 5min runs! I did a short run today & Coach B said the mere fact I had started a run meant I was a winner! Go on be a winner too!

What a lovely photo! For me routine is everything. The more days I miss, the flimsier the excuse I need to stay on the couch.Currently in a routine, feeling motivated...ooh, it's a rest day today so I'll stay in bed ;)

Yes routine is key .. but when it slips quite hard to get back into it! I just have to say something like Monday is Runday! Get on with it Annie! 🤣🙄

Beautiful. little fellow.. or lass !

I know for me, and there have been a fair few times when I have been making a comeback... just reading the posts and replies here, encourages me, to just get the shoes on and get out there!

Scroll through my posts and there are some real stories there... Comeback from all sorts; broken ribs, old fractures, Covid and blip after blip following Mr Of's Heart attack!

Bute each time, this forum and the other running forums keep me buoyant, the friendship, the empathy and yes, the odd nudge if need be... that is what gets me back into it!

Looking forward to seeing what others do, to get back !

🍏 I love those seals! Hubby & I did a walk to St Mary’s Island. There were so many of them basking on the rocks! Floss you are a legend on all our forums with your wonderful stories and drawings! Hope you going to turn them into a book! Xx

How lovely to see a seal pup on your run, lots of reasons not to run, isn't it great when we are able to though?

🍏Each run is a blessing Sue! When you come to running later in life, you appreciate it all the more, well I certainly do! It makes me feel young & alive 🤣

Me on the injury couch again 🙄 this time with a sprained ankle was 5k into an 8k planned run fweling really good and then rolled my ankle on an an uneven payment not looking where my foot was landing, fell inro a wall and cut my hand up, couldnt get hold of anyone to pick me up so hobbled 3 miles to home which made it worse, i feel so stupid and so annoyed with myself as ill be out of running for at least 4 weeks, now doing some ankle strengthening and rehab exercises until i can get back out there 🤕 i miss my runs

🍏😥🤗 oh do I feel for you! What a painful experience that must have been!!!! Disappointing too when you have trained so hard! The worst is missing your runs now! However you are doing all the right things. Giving you a big hug XenaZelda
