My Zero to Hero return journey update: 2 weeks in to Runkeeper’s 6-week Couch25k

I’m one run away from having finished the first two weeks of Runkeeper six week plan to get you running for 30 minutes or 5K if you’re fast enough.

Just a note, the second week onwards, all audio-guided runs are behind the subscription pay wall.

But having used Runkeeper for four years for free, ever since I graduated my first Couch to 5K journey, I thought it would be only fair to pay for the two months it will take me to complete this audio guided journey.

And I’m loving it. The audio coach keeps on chatting continuously, so, unlike NRC’s Coach, Bennett, who drops in and out, it is more like a continuous spoken podcast, but with the ability of listening to your music in the background.

The first two weeks were quite easy for me, but then, I only had a four week running break. But the journey focuses on jeffing, increasing the number of intervals first, before increasing the running duration of the running intervals.

I will report back once I finished, doing a a review of the whole journey.

Happy running everyone!

Sounds like it’s working well for you. Having a plan can be so motivating. Do you think you’ll find it extra motivating because you’ve got to pay? I was wondering about trying Runna which isn’t free and thought that might turbo boost my will to get out.

Well, it certainly will make me finish this plan. (But then, as you say, any plan is a real motivator, so not sure paying makes a difference to me)
