Given the darker mornings and evenings we have now, I'm looking for recommendations for running lights please.

I have this, which is rechargable and has a white light to see by at the front and 4 flashing red leds on your back. I also wear a rechargeable led light on my head.

For added visibility I wear a reflective yellow running jacket from Décathlon.

I have this one, too - and love it. I tried head torches but didn’t get on with them.

This is the one I have. I liked that it works with either a rechargeable battery or regular ones. I’m often a bit disorganised with charging tech and it’s nice to have the option to just stick a few AAA batteries in if it’s low when I come to use it. It’s also very comfortable.

I have a chest light which I think was from Sports Direct. You can also get them in Decathlon. You can buy head torches, but I prefer a chest light.

I use 2 lights - a chest one a bit like this:

amazon.co.uk/Zenoplige-Rech...

There are several different types that all do more or less the same thing.

I also have a head light:

amazon.co.uk/Petzl-Bindi-20...

Rather more expensive but it is small and light.

Both are rechargeable so you don't need to worry about batteries.

What sort of routes do you take? Are they unlit paths in the country or pavements with street lighting?

Now that it's dark I am sticking to areas that are usually lit, however, due to trees blocking street lights and odd dark areas, I am looking for something to help me avoid tree roots across paths, wheely bins, puddles and other obstacles!

I'd suggest a cheap head torch and something to make you visible (like an armband). I expect that Aldi and Lidl will have such things in as part of their weekly deals at some point soon.

200 lumen will be fine. Had you been doing trail running in the mountains you'd want something with more oomph.

Thanks for that. 😁 I have some armbands - from Lidl and elsewhere 🤣 - but wasn't sure whether to go for head or chest lights to aid my vision. Also wanted something reasonably priced as was a bonus rather than a necessity.

Not what you're looking for?
