Happy Sunday 😄 what a change in weather. I nearly didn't go, I'm a little ticked off with Garmin, I feel like I'm sleeping well, I spend a lot of my evenings gently knitting, I wake refreshed! Garmin says my stress levels don't drop much overnight because I had too few restful minutes during the day before, my body battery rarely gets above 37, it used to be much higher, Garmin also says my sleep is too restless so I'm not refreshed, so I start each day down in the dumps. I haven't changed anything and used to get a higher sleep score and higher body battery so I don't know what's up with Garmin. Just for the record my daughter's is the same.
So, local parkruns were cancelled yesterday, grass under water and paths flooded but as I'd run Friday I wasn't too bothered.
Today I woke to mostly blue sky and sunshine and nearly couldn't be bothered. But I'd booked the health suite with my granddaughter for 11 so had to get a move on.
Today I realised I didn't have time for 5k so set off for a 4kYeah Run and took it slowly because I've been listening to the importance of recovery run podcasts. The sun shone, I got nice and warm, the music mix was fine and the run got done, Strava gave me ,3rd fastest over the railway bridge north and increased my fitness, NRC said well done and Garmin said bleh.
Got home, ouch, 10 minutes and due out again, made a drink, shoved my kit in my bag, decided the after run shower could be done at the gym. And off again, no where near to park so almost 1.5k walk from car to pool, a shower then few lengths if the pool, another shower then aaaah steam room, hit bench, sauna, and almost 1.5k walk back to car. A little tired doesn't quite cover it but happy with my run, the weather, the steam room etc and Sunday is pizza day.
Run happy or rest well

Easy when feeding vegetarian, vegan and me, my grandson came Friday and we had roast beef with all the trimmings 😁 I'm a bit tired now though, it was so lovely out this morning
Fantastic, what a busy bee you've been, out in the glorious weather today.
My Garmin has been putting my body battery low recently too, only 100 on 4 days in the last 4 weeks despite lots of sleep and exercise, and mostly way below that. Like you say, it's a bit discouraging when it's below 60.
See my last reply, I'm pretty sure my surgeon isn't in here 🤣 I did find though that my legs were happier swimming than they've ever been, must be the running and walking, I haven't regularly swam since 2019 and am looking forward to building it up again.
🍏I think 🤔 Garmin is the cause of your stress especially at night!! Put him out to pasture at night!
The 4K Yeah 👍 sounds like a good recovery run after all your other exciting runs lately! You are really hitting the fitness spot with a lovely swim added to your day plus making pizza for the family. No wonder you feel whacked.
Hopefully 🙏 a good nights sleep after some gentle knitting & wind down.. Mr Zzz can be elusive though, I know xx🤗
Garmin's just annoying. I mostly am asleep soon after I go to bed, a running podcast sends me off quick 🤣 it was a good day, having inner ear problems doesn't help but I'm seeing a GP tomorrow about them, they are better than they were but not better. The odd thing about having my eye done, straight away the world stopped moving, I thought that was ears but it was eyes, I no longer have bruises in my arms as I seem to have stopped bumping into things 😁
You have to find one that drones in a bit, I kept getting woken up by a couple of excitable women one night, but they are interesting enough if you're not sleeping and gentle enough to send you off
That sounds like a great day Sue, well done.. I expect your body battery was on 5 when you went to bed? I’m having the same body battery issues as you at the moment.. it’s depressing isn’t it.. I suspect it’s because I’m quite anxious at the moment and certainly not sleeping well. My BB 30 on waking up today and a busy day ahead 😩. But Garmin does advise rest plus more activity to keep it up 🤷🏻♀️
I wonder if something changed with the last update? Garmin is a tad confused 🤔.Yes my body battery was on 5 long before bedtime, and it's up to a whopping 25 this morning, apparently I had few restful moments yesterday and my stress levels didn't come down overnight, I sat for hours and didn't even knit , read a book, it's odd.
Sounds like a great day... and what a beautiful beach ! You had a lovely if busy day and well worth a rest afterwards...
The tiredness is an issue for you... and I empathise...Mr OFs meds mean that nights are very broken with his nocturnal bathroom call outs; but you say yourself, sleep does not come easily, and your sleep is not restful. No magic answers to tha, is there... ?
I don't use my Garmin for any sleep or body battery info... just my VO Max which is excellent apparently ! I listen to my body, try and rationalise the whys and wherefores and then adapt... it works ,. mostly .
If you don’t like what Garmin says just ignore it! I used 2 baby books back in the day. If I didn’t like what one advised I’d just look up the other! 😆 Don’t let your day be influenced by a machine (says the woman who likes to check her VO2) 🤷♀️ A very productive day though.
What a lovely day. I don't wear my watch overnight, I hate its sleep data, which accuses me of no or too little deep sleep. If I wake feeling refreshed, then I've had a good sleep, end of! As for body battery, don't get me started. I know when I'm feeling energised or tired, I don't need garmin to tell me. Rant over.
Ha ha, I seem to be a bit obsessed with mine, but I've been looking it up and body battery and sleep score are a bit less as you get older so I'm not stressing over it any more....says she who was still awake at 4am this morning
