Another day, another run. Knowing I'd be having a swim straight afterwards I decided to rope in 'bikini' number 2. When I say bikini, what I'm referring to is an old pair of board shorts with semi perished elastic and a tankini top that has definitely seen better days. I figured that this combo would be fine for both the run and the water.

As soon as I put the tankini on I realised that it was even less supportive than my other bikini. Inspiration struck! My running belt is very stretchy so if I put it high up, around my ribcage, it might do the trick. I had intended to use it to hold my shorts up but they felt slightly more secure than my top.

You may wonder why I didn't just buy new stuff before I went away. I'm wondering too.

All went well until I started to run. No help at all. A bit more quick thinking. I pulled the belt even higher. Voila, improvised strapless sports bra

The phone in the pocket was an interesting sartorial feature. Husband's comment: 'Square boobs'.

It was actually a very successful bit of improvisation. We did just over 3km, and there was no way I'd forget to take it off before I jumped into the water with the phone in the pocket.

If only there was a photo but thankfully there isn't 😂 (I've put something a bit more aesthetic instead).

With the choice being have a run and look like a bit of a weirdo and not having a run (and possibly still looking a bit of a weirdo in my improvised bikini) there was only one possible choice
