10k #5 and ran in time with LM Runners!

We started listening to BBC iPlayer London Marathon Coverage still in bed, and as they got ready, setting up in waves of runners, I got my gear together ready for my 10k run.

There was a bit more kefuffle than usual, mobile reception wouldn’t work just outside the house, and rather than risking it, went back inside to download a music podcast (more than 2 hours long, so definitely long enough), and whilst hubby had bbc marathon live broadcast on running in the living-room I started on my own 2 hour run!

I had everything from sun, to rain to wind, leaves, a bit of mud, some grass running, trails, hills and streets.

My two hills at 8th km are still giving me grieve, again I had to walk these. And the last km was hard! Harder than last weeks 10k, possibly as I’m still getting used to this distance and might need a tad longer to recover.

Got home around the 2h mark, all water in my little bottles from my belt gone, and my iPhone being at 2% battery.

Stretched and showered, I joined hubby sipping a smoothie whilst watching the awesome runners who were running 4x the distance I had run that morning! And with telephone boxes, elephants, wheely bins on their back!

Happy running everyone!

Well done CBDB 👏👏I was inspired to get out for a 10K too, mine along the seafront at Bognor🏖. There were some hardy souls swimming in the sea 🏊‍♀️🏊 Far too chilly for me!🥶 I deliberately chose a route that would have me running the 5th to 9th km into the wind💨 I think there’ll be at least a breeze to contend with at the GSR, so it seems sensible to be used to running into it. 🏃‍♂️👍

Great run, sounds like. Running into the wind can be lovely in my area, as it never lasts long. 👍🏽💪

We’ll done CBDB on your 10 km , you’ve had all the elements. It was 5 degrees when I was out 6.30 this morning cold on hands., but no wind or rain. Yes well done all the people participating and especially the fancy dress they must be hot in their gear. Very enjoyable to watch. I’m not getting any fancy ideas to participate in one 🤣

🤣🤣🤣 I’m so not anywhere near a HM that I don’t have to worry about being tempted! But I’m in such awe of people running and running in costumes!

Thank you, yes, the LM added something special to my running day today. And being able to watch so many runners what they wear, hydration vests, shorts, leggings, dbl tops, compression socks, cowls, and of course costumes. 🤩🤩😍😍

That was a good run for you CBDB, nice that you ran along with the runners of the London Marathon, or at least virtually.I was also watching the marathon on TV, I downloaded the London Marathon App, while the runners were interviewed at the end of their run I took note of their BIB No. so that I knew exactly from the app how long they took to run, congratulations to you and also all the runners who took part in the London Marathon on Sunday, they are all winners.

Sorry for late reply! Doh! I had forgotten about the app. I think I had downloaded it last year but deleted again by the time this LM cane along.

It all really does help to feel part of a friendly runners community, doesn’t it. And for me that alone is really motivating! So thanks for being part of this! And yes, as long as we keep on running, we are all champions! 🥇🏅👍🏽
