I am still consolidating after my post-injury C25K, a time I am also using to figure out this heart rate training thing. As I've mentioned before, I've been struggling with keeping my pace consistent while being in the target heart rate range. So, today I ran to music at 160 bpm using the AudioStep app and a playlist that I put together for my pandemic speed walks.
I found it very easy to sync my steps with the beat, which felt really good! My heart rate was still too often above my high target of 140 bpm (another type of beat...), so I'll try reducing the music to 155 bpm on my Monday run.
Did my pace get more consistent? Well, I don't have too many recent 30 minute runs to compare to - and if I compare it to last week, it sure looks like it! Still a work in progress - and progress it is! 🥳
Here's a link to the app (I don't know why the rating is so low... I haven't had problems... it takes a little to find songs that still sound okay when sped up but I don't think that's the apps fault!): apps.apple.com/gb/app/audio...

No worries, CBDB , ask away! Keep in mind, though, that this is how I use the app, there might be other options... I already have quite a large music library, so that's what I use. At some point, I used a trial version of some dj software to get the bpm added to the library (wish I could remember the name of that software!). Then I pick songs around that bpm to add to the playlist.
I can't see a way to connect to a subscription like Spotify or Apply Music, though it might exist. And unfortunately, their page in the App Store isn't helpful... It looks like the app hasn't been updated in a while... (see also audioforge.net/ )
I just found this with oodles of other app options - many with higher ratings than AudioStep (I love the website name 🤣 Now I want some Appfelstrudel...): appfelstrudel.com/a/6526972...
UPDATE: It looks like only two of the results actually adjust the music! Not sure either if you can funnel your own music library through them...
