After a difficult 6 months and intermittent running for the last year, my fitness levels have plummeted. So I decided to start C25k again - with variations depending on how I felt. I started on the 3rd of April, a few days after mum’s passing…..
Each run I would follow the intervals then, if I felt ok, I ran the ‘cool down’ walk. It has been hard fitting in three runs a week so sometimes I ran two runs back to back. I am now on week 7. Today’s early morning run was really lovely…..beautiful day, warm, even at 7.30, sunny with a nice breeze. I am beginning to feel more comfortable and today managed to increase my slow pace ….just a bit !
The 7th anniversary of my very first 10k is 31st May, so my target is to do a 10k by the end of the half term holiday 🤔. There - I’ve said it now - so I’ve got to do it 😂

Very well done on your run, getting to week 7 again and all the very best of luck in building back up your fitness again. It's not easy to do, but just plugging away at if works in the end. Best wishes and happy running.
Hi skysue. Sorry to hear about your mum. These emotional moments take a lot out of us, so you are doing brilliantly. Only do the 10k if you feel good and ready; no point in picking up an avoidable injury (I don’t always follow my own advice on this ! Leads to trouble!).
Aww SS you’re a star. ⭐️ I found that dedicating some of my runs and races to my late parents gives me a boost. For now just run for fun and see where it takes you.
It does sound like you’re enjoying being back though, and that’s fantastic! 🥰
