Like a lot of people, it seems, I picked up a bug over Christmas & now struggling to get back to fitness. I dropped out of my first Parkrun after Christmas having difficulty getting my breath, so postponed another till a couple of weeks ago. Still a struggle but got round, but 3 minutes longer than usual. I've now settled on repeating week 6 run 1 c25k till I feel more like I did last year. The picture is Happy Island in Bridport, funny little bridge over the river Asker,that looks like it should have a troll underneath!

Well done getting back, that winter thing out a lot of us down but we are coming back

let’s hope by the time spring comes all those nasty bugs that knocked us down will be long gone and our previous fitness levels restored.

That bridge does look like a troll could pop out from underneath 😊

I tested negative for covid, but your post does sound very familiar to what I've had. I think there were so many bugs about around Christmas , it was hard to miss not catching something!

Loads of us had it!! Loads of folk had it and thought it was a heavy cold and loads had heavy colds!! Talk about walking wounded:)

Fantastic news! Building back after injury or illness can be mentally and physically tough but you’ll get there. I found it helpful to treat every run as a success for just being out rather than on the sofa. You’re doing great!
