Like a lot of people, it seems, I picked up a bug over Christmas & now struggling to get back to fitness. I dropped out of my first Parkrun after Christmas having difficulty getting my breath, so postponed another till a couple of weeks ago. Still a struggle but got round, but 3 minutes longer than usual. I've now settled on repeating week 6 run 1 c25k till I feel more like I did last year. The picture is Happy Island in Bridport, funny little bridge over the river Asker, that looks like it should have a troll underneath!

let’s hope by the time spring comes all those nasty bugs that knocked us down will be long gone and our previous fitness levels restored.

That bridge does look like a troll could pop out from underneath 😊

So many of us fighting back to running health after Christmas, and beyond. Do take it steadily and even though it was not Covid, maybe this post and replies, may be useful to you?

I tested negative for covid, but your post does sound very familiar to what I've had. I think there were so many bugs about around Christmas , it was hard to miss not catching something!

Fantastic news! Building back after injury or illness can be mentally and physically tough but you’ll get there. I found it helpful to treat every run as a success for just being out rather than on the sofa. You’re doing great!

Love the photo by the way ❤️
