(Below's observation is intended as a humorous comment not in anyway meant to undermine any advice given by others on this forum.)

I am talking to you from a self imposed spell on the 'naughty step'. I have broken one of the major rules of anyone doing C25k and in the early times of their running career.

"What," I hear you ask, "Possible infraction could deserve such a heinous punishment as placement on the naughty step?"

Well to quote the mitigation I gave whilst chastising myself as Naughty Nigel, a name I have been given many times in my 67 years although my name is actually Niall,

"I so wanted to do parkrun when I was away and I made an honest mistake, it wasn't my fault I'd been ill and couldn't run before, ok you got me bang to rights gov!"

I think I've got off lightly especially as I missed the mulled wine and mince pies post run and after all I did run on two consecutive days.

Disclaimer; I fully agree with the 1 day rest between runs, my own C25k took 13 weeks because I stuck to it as well as not running whilst in pain.

Further details of my parkrun is in the replies on the below thread.

Tut tut tut. I hope that after your 67 minutes on the step (it gets time consuming as we get older), that you are now free again πŸ‘

Modern day observers of pet and child training will know that the meting out of punishment for inappropriate behaviour, is no longer considered effective or ethical. Instead, withdrawal of approval, even love and affection, is more effective. (Mind you, I never saw anything untoward with the Cat o’ Nine Tails).

So not even the Naughty Stair for you, OMR. We shall just turn away and look lovingly at those who do heed the very sensible advice not to run on consecutive days.

Hope you’re crying into your Sunday lunch 🀣

πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ HeavyFoot Thank youI had several punishments in my child and youth years which would certainly have fitted the bill and seen the reciprocants doing a stretch πŸ˜‰ Whether they were effective? As a deterrent? Very probably, few people want to be hurt. Ethically? No way!

I really enjoyed Sunday lunch thanks, cold shoulder is great with hot gravy and tears πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚
