Family illness took priority last week so 2 runs instead of 3 😕
Went out this morning intending to do 7k (week 3 M Plan). To do this, my route takes me over a bridge twice but when I reached it for the 2nd time, it was closed to let boats through 🙄
So … change of plan … this was the 5k run instead and successfully negotiated ✅
Played the hand I was dealt and satisfied with result - 7k is waiting for me next week 🏃♀️

Something similar (a canal lift bridge being in use) happened to me at 14km into my first half marathon attempt.
In that case it was a good thing (even though I didn't think so at the time) as I was running with an injury. The ten minutes or so of hanging about cooled my muscles down just enough that what was just a minor niggle turned into something so painful that I abandoned the run and walked home. About a fortnight later I got some advice from a physio.
My next attempt at the HM wasn't until nearly five months later.
One of my favourite coach Bennettisms (yes. I am a total groupie!) is “when you can’t run the run you want, run the run you can!” I had to knock ten minutes off the end of my run today which was a bit disappointing but the rest of it is still in my legs and I’m very pleased about that!
Sounds like you did a great job today and that 7km will be in the bag soon.
Coach Bennett is unknown to me - sounds like research heading my way ? Happy that I adjusted of my own accord and content with result. Onwards, forwards and upwards as they say 😉
He’s on the Nike Run Club app. Bit marmite-can be cheesy and talk too much but that app has been the best thing for my running since c25k. Really good luck for your next run. 🏃♀️ 💪
