A week is a long time without a run

It's been a busy week! Seeing a good weather forecast we decided we'd set off towards Brighton in our boat last Monday. I'll spare you the details but we finally set off at 2am last Wednesday, followed by a 4am start on Thursday. On Friday we were too tired to run, planning to do Parkrun in East Brighton on Saturday. We overslept and missed that, plus it was way too warm for me. We spent the evening in London then came back yesterday for my youngest's 21st birthday meal. No excuse this morning though!

Initially we were going to go to the park where they do the Parkrun but realised that we are right by the Coastal Path so set off to do a gentle 5km. I was a bit nervous as it's a concrete surface but it was flat and level, so that when my husband suggested doing 6km there was no objection from me.

It was warm, no shade but thankfully a sea breeze. As we passed 5km I wondered why I'd agreed to the extra distance but realised I was enjoying myself and it wasn't much further.

There's a big Asda near our finishing point so we went in and stood by the chiller cabinets to cool down, then treated ourselves to strawberries and grape juice.

I'd had so much fun I completely forgot about doing my cool down stretches until I was in the shower! I hope my muscles don't punish me 😂

That looks gorgeous YLG, running along by the sea is always lovely in my book! Saturday was veeery warm for Parkrun down this way so oversleeping was probably a good thing! Enjoy the rest of your trip, at least you have some sea breezes to enjoy!

That’s a gorgeous place to run. It’s so nice when runs end at places with refreshments, especially if you can also stand in a chilled cabinet! Fingers crossed for those legs tomorrow.
