I bought these Brooks Ghosts back in 2018 for C25K, following a recommendation in the Times for the “bigger runner”.
Many months later a gait analysis advised me to purchase Hokas for overpronation so Mr Brooks went into the cupboard.
I’ve brought them on holiday and taken them out for a 3km spin. Much bouncier than I remember and the lining is still fine unlike Hokas which regularly wear out at the heel.
So more happy runnings for Mr Brooks. 😎

I must say I do love my Brooks. But I think I will have to retire a pair next month after I do a muddy trek across the beach and mud of Southend on Sea to walk/run to the Mulberry stuck in the mud out there. I don’t think they will survive that!
Wouldn't wellies be better in the mud? Or is it sandy near the Mulberry?? I wish you hadn't mentioned this walk, now I want to do it myself 😂 (not gonna let my beloved Brooks get anywhere near sea water!!)
Wellies are ok for the first bit apparently but then it’s quite hard sand and I can’t imagine running in wellies 😂so it’s my old Brooks or beach shoes I guess.
It’s the first time The RNLi at Southend have done this so I think it has to be done and yesterday there were still a lot of places left if you were tempted. ⚓️🥾
