I’m calling it a run!

Woke in a bright and breezy mood and pain so swallowed the magic pills. Noticed as my pain went down so did my mood, cancelled walk with friend then message from daughter shall we go for a walk? explained about the mood and lethargy. She pointed out it’s just the pills and once i’m fixed and no longer need them i will be fine….. clever girl.

Agreed to meet at the bottom of the bridge her side, so pulled in clothes, put on new shoes just in case i run some of it.

Zombies on music on, Willow has a cold so staying home.

walk down the road, run slowly, kept going, arrived at the bridge, can still run up and over, smile.

No daughter at bottom of the bridge so keep going, turn left into industrial estate, saw daughter, uh oh, zombies chasing me, waved and said 2 minutes, sprinted along the road crossed and turned back, just over 1k run, walked with daughter and explained what the sprint was about.

Walked round the park, through the golf course looking at all the new tracks, round the lake, along the river and to the back of the park where Willow and I started our running journey, ran around the track together, through the wood and then home to hers, we would have gone round the block again to get 5k but could see the dog sitting by the door wagging happy to see us.

Went shopping, back to mine for coffee and mood is much better.

I said my get up and go has gone, daughter said my get up has gone I need to push through to see if my go is still there 😂 and it is 😃

Happy weekend all x

That sounds like a lovely run-walk-run followed by a bit of retail therapy and coffee.

The perfect antidote to a artificially induced low!

You certainly do still have your "go"- and hopefully it won't be too long before everything is all sorted out for you.

🤗

The perfect antidote to no get up and go is the persuasion of a family member and a shed load of zombies., And didn’t you have a great time?

We really did thanks Dexy5

Oh fabulous! And extra fabulous for defeating extra-gremly gremlins! Hope that runner’s high lasts until the next run!

So do I although it does leave me exhausted at the moment, I’m planning to go again tomorrow morning. Listened to the intro to the Zombies 5k thing, it was fun 🤩

Brill. I am about to finish week 2. Slowly and steady does it for me. I only run twice/week at the moment. 👍🏽💪👏

I have only run a couple times since early Feb so twice a week sounds good to me,

Lovely post W&S. Glad you got a run in, and have such a supportive daughter nearby.

She’s a pharmacist so when I’m miserable and wonder if I’ll ever get my energy levels back she comes along with all the sensible answers

Nice one! Zombies and daughter combo are clearly stronger than the pills! Hope things improve for you soon.I love your daughter's take on get up and go -think I might be using that one to get me out the door for my post work runs which I often fail to do due to lack of GUAG!

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate1060minGraduate in reply toWeek7

Thanks Week7 it was a good one wasn’t it? Mind you she’s full of them! On our run/walk yesterday she said “so you get up in pain, then take the pills and over the next half hour or so the pain fades but so does your mood and energy? So you have a window of feeling ok energy wise? that’s when you must get out for your run 🏃‍♀️ 😀 simple”

One of those easier said than done things me thinks

One of those things only a daughter can say! As you say, easier said than done, but she's planted the idea in your head now so may just work!?Daughters are brilliant aren't they? I can only put it down to the fact that they get it from their brilliant mums!

Im glad to hear you felt better after your run, maybe the release of 'happy hormones' we get from running helped and will help for future runs. Lovely picture, looks so peaceful, and you reminded me, I haven't done any of the zombies runs for ages, I must have a look again.Hope you continue to have 'than expected' days.

🏃‍♀️

I’ve only just seen this one Sola but I’m so pleased you were able to get out for a walk with your daughter and incorporate a run into it as well - and of course it counts as a run! Sorry to hear your surgery has been postponed - I hope you get some good news when you see the doc tomorrow!

SueAppleRun profile image

It would just be good to have some answers, I’ve had so many tests but no one’s been able to tell me results and what happens next, the doctor tomorrow may or may not know.

It must be so frustrating for you, my fingers are crossed for tomorrow!

It’s felt better today with less pills but i’m shattered now and little pain it’s less painful with codeine but it takes all my energy
