A pleasant Midweek 3.5K πŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

I wasen't sure if I could get a run in today but it looked like a decent weather slot so didn't want to miss it .

It was around 8 degrees at 08:30 so back in shorts !

And just one zipped thermo layer on top.

That was perfect !

08:30 is a good time to go as the school kids have gone .

It felt cool on my warmup walk but I knew it would be just right when running.

Started off feeling fine and soon settleled into a natural pace, the only issue was a stiff breeze after the first half K which made breathing a little tricky for the next kilometre.

2.5k in and around the corner out of the breeze but onto the incline which slowed me down a little today, I was actually warming up at this point and it was nice to have the option of the zip top to open a bit !

Onto the last part of the run where the picture was taken and decided to finish today at 3.5K as i hadn't had a good night's sleep last night and was feeling it a bit !

Still, another run done ,

Even Mr Garmin was happy today and decided to reward me by taking a year off my fitness age !

About time too as he has been punishing me since I came back !

Back home , stretches done and porridge eaten 😁

Happy running!

How kind of Mr Garmin rewarding you by taking one year off your fitness age, very nice of him, good run for you Instructor57, better to wait until the school kids have gone.As usual your midweek run coincides with my 5K Wednesday (not) parkrun, this morning was my 86th, what was especially good was, apart from the 1st kilometer, the other 4 were negative splits, my 5K time was 34.31, the temperature was the same and like you I wore shorts with a light jumper over my T Shirt, that is a lovely photo of just after sunrise πŸŒ…. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Thanks Al, it was a pleasant run this morning. And well done with the negative splits , it's always satisfying to achieve that πŸ˜πŸ‘

Oh Garmin is a fickle man, he adds and takes away years at random I’m sure, if I run for 20 minutes he takes a year off but if i run for 45 or more he ages me πŸ˜€A good run and beautiful photo, the sunshine and mildness is a bonus, long may it last

Yes, a very pleasant little run !It's always nice to have Mr Garmin on side BUT, Ultimately, I run for me and not him 😁

Yes me too, I was a bit miffed when he said i had a fitness age of 79 a couple of years ago but it was fun watching it go down, but running is just something I so enjoy I don’t care what Garmin says about it, all I know is I get home smiling most times

And that's all that matters πŸ˜πŸ‘

Sounds like a good run and such nice weather! During my run on the treadmill yesterday the weather was also nice, a bit of sun came through the window. Let's cross our fingers that we will get more sunny weather than the gloomy 50 shades of grey!

Well done (again 😊) Ian! I agree that if you’re a bit chilly during the warm up walk, you’re dressed just right. And fair play to Mr Garmin for giving credit where it’s due πŸ˜ƒ!

Thanks Kate , was hoping to do more but didn't happen , thanks to lack of sleep

Sleeping badly sucks, I had the same the night before last and there’s no way I could have run the next day. So that’s very impressive!

Thanks Kate !I'm nodding off now 🀣😴

Good run again for you. You are getting younger by the day. Result. 😁

I think it helps getting out when your tired. I go through bouts of sleeping bad and I feel it gives me a boost if I do exercise. Hope that run helps you sleep better tonight 🀞🏻

A beautiful morning for a run! Well done on that run and a brilliant reward for your efforts. Isn't Mr Garmin nice πŸ˜€

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply toBeatlesforever

Yes, it was a nice morning albeit a bit breezy !

Haha, it's the first time he's been nice to me since before I was unwell

He's been in a good mood lately, my VO2 max has improved even though I'm not running that often. I think Mr Garmin likes the shorter runs πŸ‘

On that basis if I don't run at all will I go back to being a teenager??! I wish....not really but 25 would do. Lovely photo, good temperature and reasonable run....well done you.

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply toMormor1

Not really , after my break Garmin slapped several years on me !It's taken several runs to start chipping away at it again

Looks like and sounds like a super run... what a lovely photograph too:)I set out yesterday too, after the school rush, for Week 1 Run 1 of Magic Plan. Apart from two or three very late stragglers, totally deserted:)

Negative splits too .. always very welcome...well done you!

Great stuff... It can be odd, sometimes even after a poor night's sleep it goes ok but sometimes... it really is hard!I am hoping to do 3.5 today for Run 2... but in Derbyshire today... I feel fine again, about occasionally, doing two run days, but then I am having two days non run, before Sunday's longer run:)

Instructor57 profile image
Instructor57Graduate10β€’ in reply toOldfloss

Ooh, many years since I have been around Derbyshire ! Enjoy your run!

Yes it is strange , yesterday it certainly helped me 😁 !

Oldfloss profile image

Just a short way from me and we have taken to heading out at least one day a week for me to do a shortish run whilst Mr. OF has a walk ( he has a crocked knee, from climbing), so the trails are a great surface for him to walk on. It works well, I do an out in walk and usually meet him coming towards me or waking back on the final lap :)You should visit again!

Trail from Parsley Hay ... glorious.
