5k in the winter sunshine

β€’12 Replies

I headed for a new location for my 5k this morning, the deer park of a nearby NT property, where I have visited for dog walks but never been to run.

It was a very chilly zero degrees, with the rising sun catching the frost and casting long shadows across the parkland - absolutely beautiful. I took photos as I ran, it was impossible not to. I came across herds of deer in several places, their antlers golden in the sunshine against the blue sky and grazing in large groups, sometimes right across my path so that I had to divert or slow to a walk so as not to startle them.

I will definitely return to run here again. The route was quite undulating and I had to slow to a walk briefly as I reached the final uphill stretch. W1R2 completed on The Magic Plan πŸ˜ƒπŸ¦Œ.

Anyone else having issues downloading photos this morning? I have managed to add it below in a reply πŸ˜€.

Wow that looks a wonderful place to run no wonder you had to stop to take pictures. It will be lovely to see how it changes with the seasonsDo you have to drive to get there to run?

I always run from home, but I have to drive past the parkland on a Monday morning when I drop my son off for his lift on to college, so I feel I can justify a run there. You are right about the scenery; it will be lovely to record the seasons as the weather changes. 😊. I’m catching the photography bug from you!
