Another tough one.

I was really looking forward to todays outing. Once out the door and doing my warm up run I looked down and observed my bright clean new runners at the end of my man tights. It made me smile as I have seen lots of people pass by my house with their new running attire proudly on display over the last few days.

Very quickly into the run I knew something just was not right. My head said run, my legs wanted to run, my new Brooks runners were trying to run but - my internal engine was malfunctioning.

Although going very slowly I could barely breathe and mr garmin confirmed that I was indeed in Zone 4. I could not get it under control but there was no way I was stopping until 30 minutes was completed.

Up the path I went and at one intersection the overnight rain had flooded the area so trying to be clever and keep my new runners sparkling I decided to try and circumvent the puddle using the grass. Epic mistake. My lovely clean shoes are now both covered in mud as well as soaking wet 🤣.

Eventually home and completely breathless. I purposely went faster for the 4th km through anger that my body wasn't working properly.

I suspect I have some virus or after effects of covid lingering as opposed to pork pie related issues. Hmmm!

Will try a short one again tomorrow.

Sounds like that one could have been a walk instead but you went out and ran so be proud,

The part with the puddle and grass, I so know that one. Luckily I wore my old shoes and not my new ones. Once at home I could clean them up pretty well though. And as for the hardness of the run, it might be anything. The covid, the pork or just aliens influencing you!

Not what you're looking for?
