Having been a total slob all week, compounded by finding a shop that sells fried pastries, I woke this morning to a dry bright chilly day. Enough sitting round reading, I was going to run!
Somehow, despite the pavements having lots of icy patches of grubby snow they didn't seem slippery. Mr OBK and I headed to the forest.
There was no snowfall overnight and the sandy road had piles of muddy frozen slush on either side but the paths were either clear or still fairly crunchy and powdery. We'd intended to do 4k but enjoyed it so much we did 5k instead.
Temperature was between 1 and-1C but I didn't feel cold. I had a long sleeved running top, leggings, jumper and windproof jacket topped with a Thinsulate hat. I only realised how cold it was when it occurred to me I hadn't stripped off my jumper and jacket after a kilometre when I'm usually really hot.
A good start to the day, now for some more fried pies and a big bowl of home made borscht ๐
