So I finished work late and got home even later, so my partner was already home, I was stressed and tired, it was dark out and cold and I just wasn't feeling it this evening. If there was ever an excuse I was finding it!

It really would've been so easy for me to have not run tonight, but I kicked myself up the bum, got changed and went out the door, thinking I'd just do a short loop around the block.

I trudged up the road on my warm up walk the 5 mins was up and off I went.........

I have to say I'm so glad I persuaded myself to go out, I really enjoyed the run and at the end of the loop around the block i kept going, i managed 4.5k without even thinking about it.

Now feeling fab! 😁

Excellent. Another victory for mind over matter! I've taken the view that 'I'm just going to do it' on the days I have runs planned, no excuses bar bubonic plague maybe, and I've found that once I get out running I love it.

A perfect example why you should "force" yourself to get out there. Now you feel great instead of beating yourself up for not getting out there. Well done :)

Well done Sandi - they're the hardest runs to start but the most rewarding ones to do.
