A fabulous run today. The weather was stunning and I was due my long run of the week. I set off at an uber slow plod to warm up and then settled into a slow, long run pace. It was one of those runs where it felt like you could keep going forever!

7k was the goal today but I felt so good that I decided to throw an extra k at it. So I finished this run one very happy woman after doing 8k - the longest run in ages!

That's just fantastic! To add on another k just because it felt good is fabulous! Well done and glad you're running strong and long in this beautiful autumn!

8k fabulous, and how good is it when you get to the end of the distance and decide to keep going? flipping awesome

Actually I knew it was going to be a good one early on so I committed to 4k on the outward leg. But there is always the knowledge that you can walk if necessary. That's what's great about an out and back run. I've never yet given up once committed on the outward leg though.

Very well done. I have still to master the slow run but hopefully will be following in your footsteps (imaginary) my 8k this week

I inadvertently learned about what a real low heart rate run is by pressing a button on my watch by mistake when I was out for a run and it came up with the HR zones. Its quite a revelation. I thought I was slow but learning to go even slower was a game changer. Good luck with your run.

It really is! No puffing, no exhaustion - just a lovely 'at one with the world' kind of run.
