Ok I admit it - I love a Garmin badge! I've been struggling a bit recently with the weather being atrocious. It just sucked the motivation right out of me. I've only been doing one run per week for the last few weeks and last week was so horrible I stopped 20 minutes in. Today I was on the hunt for the Halloween badge on Garmin so thought I'd try the short, "Find Your Pace" run with Coach Cory on Nike guided runs.
Well it was another total gasper. Was glad to finish it as my breathing just never settled for the whole run. However, I had a 3 mile walk to do to get the October walking badge so set up the watch and kept moving.
After walking for 5 mins I got bored - after all I was on my lovely canal and its my favourite place to run. So I decided to try again at a very gentle ploddy pace. Hurrah! Now fully warmed up the chest was loose, breathing sorted and I trundled away fir the 3miles quite happily!
I have gotten used to my pace and breathing only taking 5 minutes to settle but maybe with the cooler weather its going to take longer to properly warm up and get past the toxic..... 10/15/20?????
Well I'm glad I tried again - that's made me feel a whole lot better knowing that I may just have to put up with a longer lead in to that happy pace.
Happy Halloween all 👻🏃♀️🧛♀️🧙- and happy badge hunting!!!! Here's one I earned earlier.... 😉

I just spotted your post and so pleased to see you've been getting out even if it's a struggle with rubbish weather. I started my firepit to have a BBQ for Halloween but had to cook indoors as it started pouring down ☹️And thanks for the badge photo I always forget about the Garmin badges.
I got there in the end 😁. And I ended up with 3 badges today. Result!!!! The one above, another one for sharing it on Whatsapp and then the 3 mile Halloween 'walk' that was mostly run....
Well done for persevering through the toxic ten. The weather has been a bit brutal. We've escaped a lot of it down here, but this morning (when I had been thinking of a run at the end of a hectic week), it tipped it down!Glad you enjoyed your lively canal
Thanks! Doing that pace setting run was a bit brutal in the circumstances. But the second shot was lovely. The weather really has been awful, hasn't it? But remember the rain or shine runs on C25K? I need to get back into that mindset - I live in Scotland, after all.... 🤣🤣 Hope you get a good weather window for your next run.
Oooh oooh as soon as I saw your badge I had to check Garmin to see if I had one! Which I do so thank you for the heads up 😁. I think the cooler weather def affects how long it takes to warm up, and well done for starting to run again during your walk! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oh i never thought about a garmin badge!! too late now and blowing a hooley out there and the rain coming down. Glad you got a good run in, it’s often tough in the beginning
Well done FionaMags on getting your trick and treat badge and your walking Halloween badge. I got my two as well walking 3.1 mile Friday, trick and treat today and 300000 steps challenge October. Weather been bad and trying to dodge the worst to get walk and runs in .
Hhmm! Looks like Garmin didn’t award me a Halloween badge for my efforts. I did get something vaguely Darth Vader from NRC, though. Good to see you in search of mojo. I definitely find that a proper warmup makes a huge difference.
