Am I enjoying my runs not quite sure yet.

The first 5 mins still hard work, climbing over stiles even harder, I probably look like a clumsy old bird struggling to get her leg over.

I did try to run slower than the first one🏃‍♀️

However when I had done 4k my breathing was easier and I said to myself this is not bad considering 15 weeks ago I could only manage 90 seconds and that was a struggle

Looking forward to my next run🏃‍♀️ being even easier after the first 5 mins of course.

Happy running everyone

Good for you 👍 Every single run we do counts and is added to our running bank, so even on “meh” runs we are getting stronger and fitter even if we don't always feel that 😕

The image of you climbing over stiles reminds me of a walk I went on years ago with a friend who lived in the countryside. At that time I lived in suburbia. We came to a stile. I fiddled around for ages and couldn’t even get it open and he laughed so much and then rolled his eyes and remarked to a passing walker, “city girl 🙄”. I now live in the countryside so have mastered the art of opening and closing said stiles 🤣

Thank you for your replyUnfortunately these stiles have to be climbed over and not opened, it does give me a breather from running tho 🤣

Over 3 years since I finished C25k and it still takes me 5 minutes or so to settle into a run and get my breathing right. Just a normal part of my run. I sometimes use that 5 minutes as a slow warm up and start my watch afterwards. Irishprincess ; here oop north, stiles are things you clamber over. Just a hole in a hedge or fence with steps up and down either side. Hard to negotiate with a reluctant Old English Sheepdog under one arm!🙂

🤣I am originally a northern girl too and when I take my dog for a walk I have to tuck her under my arm on meeting stiles.Thank you for your encouraging reply I will use my 5 mins wisely (hopefully)🙄

We’ve got one like yours in the field next to our church and I took my (then) 88 year-old mum for a walk and she managed to climb over it with just a little help from me 🙂 I was so proud of her 😍

I think ours down ‘ere are kissing gates rather than stiles but whatever they are, they do interrupt a run ☹️
