So today I achieved my personal best distance of 8K, still working towards that mighty 10k. I completed the run on a trail that was pretty much in direct sunlight so had to take it really steady because my body temperature really does increase quickly in most weather conditions.
The first 3K was a slight incline, next 3K coming back so slight decline, from 6 to 7 more of a straight and the final 7 to 8 was a bigger incline with a nice cool down walk to end. That last km wasn't pleasant but I so wanted that 8K bagged! Took me 55 minutes in total going steady.
That's me for a few days recovery now before doing another couple of shorter 5Ks then seeing if I can strike that 9K.
Watch out 10K, I'm coming for you! ๐คฃ๐

Thanks Sparky. Yeah starting on an incline is not ideal but I do love the trail so it can't be avoided and it is only slight. Besides it's good for the bum I suppose! ๐คฃ๐
Fantastic new distance for you at a great pace, youโll be able to claim your 60mins badge very soon. Enjoy your onward journey to 10k. Happy running ๐ค
Thanks Frenc. I'll be super proud when it happens... My goal was to reach 10K before the year was out but I think I'm on the right tracks for it being much sooner. ๐๐
Congratulations Skiddle1 on completing your first 8K run in a very good time of 55 minutes, I like a 8K run as it is usually a 1 hour run for me although I have ran it around 55/56 minutes on a good day, not long now until you run a 10K, but don't rush. ๐ ๐๐พ
